I'm not one who usually gets all gushy over ultra-high-priced and way-out-of-reach exotic sports cars.... EXCEPT this one gives me a perpetual hard-on. This car just drips with a sweet sexiness like no other car I've ever seen.
Maybe it's due to an early Porsche "imprinting" experience from my youth when a neighbor of ours brought home a late 1960's 911S, and then would let me help wash and care for it with him. I dunno... Anyways, I thought some might enjoy the same fantasy I've been having today.
Also, if you have some spare time and want to check out some of the slickest car-related Web stuff I've seen in quite some time, clink on the link below to see some incredible footage, with the option of selecting several different camera angles, of the Carrera GT taking a lap around the test track at Weissach -- truly impressive. (The start button is in the middle of the page, just below a line of 4 pics.)

Casey, who can only dream the impossible dream -- the one of lifestyles of the rich and famous -- and who better start saving some serious coin to come up with the cool ~$450k needed to buy this car....

450k for the car and the crow bar to pry all the ***** off your dick that a car like that generates.
I think they strap a completmentary blonde on when you pick it up at the dealer.

that's the one I have had a hard on for for many years. As big a Ferrari fan as I am, the GT40 has just always fascinated me.

Did you hear about the guy that just paid 500k for the #1 GT? Way too much money, especially for a car w/ a 1500 units PER year run. The carrera GT is really nice. Really, really nice.
I love the lines of the Carrera GT too!
My personal favorite exotic, which is not insanely expensive either, would be the Ultima GTR...

a friend of mine was on waiting list for the C-GT. But he backed out because Porsche was greedy and wanted a $50k deposite up front, so he said screw them. I'm sure there will be plenty of C-GT to go around in a few month.
Can't wait to see one.

ultima is cool but personally i don't consider it an exotic. somehow, american v8 just doesn't sound exotic (the actual engine tone) to me. IMO exotics needs an sexy engine...
Frank,
Wrong, wrong, wrong.
180 Degree headers, solid lifters, and gear drive cam gives you all the exotic noise behind (and inside) your head that you need.
<Crockodile Dundee voice on> That's not a fantasy....THIS is a fantasy:

<voice off>
Scott, who's not sure he'd give up the sound of his B18C5 for anything with less than 12 cylinders...

Why limit yourself to a Morgan with four wheels? Too modern if you ask me.
If I wanted (read : to afford) a track car, I'd buy a Caterham R300 and be done with it. To me, speed is exotic enough.

Scott, I have no idea of the sound you're talking about. are you messing with me or am i really missing out? :-)
i tell you guys what sounds sexy. recently i saw a Porsche 917 fired up in front up me. it sounded so good. then a Porsche 962, and few old F1 cars. the old Cosworth F1 engines sounds damn good.

Fair 'nuff, and to each his own. But have you ever heard a large block GM motor, say a 455ci with a nice exhaust system? Very, very sexy....

Well an Ultima GTR was used to test out the BMW designed V-12 for the Mclaren F1 road car... that probably sounded pretty exotic.
Maybe a certain twin turboed V8 Ultima GTR making 1300hp would sound exotic too... kinda like a suby WRX on massive steroid doses.
Yeah I get that chevy/ford V8 sounds aren't usually exotic...unless they are say a Ford GT40 Mark II or Mark IV. Ferrari has to be V8 sound nirvana for me though...ohh I get shivers and cold tingly feeling from those V8's. And the V12's melody just sings like sweet mechanical music - to paraphrase a little RUSH. So somebody put a Ferrari V8 in an Ultima and call me over for a little sound check session...
BTW, here's a link to a short video clip for the Ultima GTR: http://www.ultima-gtr.info/ (it's the GTR TV link on the left hand frame).

I'm really a messed up dood.
Nigel Shiftright would consider the Moggie 3-wheeler anachronistic, so then must I.
But I will have a modern version of an F2 (500) some day if only to serve as a Milliken-esque Mule.
That Krazy Kandy above is so outrageous that it might as well be from another planet. In the scale my imagination works in I find my plebian based ITR to be a miraculous achievement. If I found myself in proximity to one of those Porsches I'm afraid I'd go into a fugue state.
Scott, who is picturing a modern vintage racer in a Morgan 3-wheeler wearing a HANS device...and it's just not that much more ludicrous...

Not pulling your leg Frank - they can make outrageously good sounds.

What fantasy? You mean the one where this one DOESN'T leak oil all over your garage?
--Chris, who goes off to clean up the 134A refrigerant oil that his Miata is puking all over the garage floor.

It certainly is outrageous, and that's what makes my fantasy so enjoyable. The wonders of the b18c vtec seem very pedestrian compared to the development and technology of the C-GT. From the ceramic brake and clutch material, to the carbon fiber chassis, to the 600+hp v10 motor, all I can say is "wow!" And it is such great eye candy to boot. I haven't had a crush like this since I was a teenager and Cheryl Ladd was one of Charlie's Angels...

It would only work if the driver had the HANS device lashed up to a leather helmet, wrapped with aviator goggles. Toss in a scarf for good measure...
Exotic, to me.
Lovely thing

not that i'd want one, but i did oogle it for a few minutes when it pulled up to the nurburgring last week. let me know if you want more pics.
The 'ring kicked ***, as usual (how could it not?). We even managed to get the sport package on our rental car this year. But it didn't help us from chunking the outer tread blocks off the contisports, dislodging a front swaybar bushing, and destroying a set of pads and rotors (just don't tell SIXT!). All in good fun though.
I got to see one of these new Viper Competition Coupes at my last track day in Calgary Alberta.
One of the members of our club just recently got delivery of it. First one in Canada.
Sounds like a tractor - but hauls ***. This is a seriously bad car.
Sorry for the big pic.

That Porsche GT is sick, just awesome. I can forgive them for building the Cayenne if that thing turns out to be as good as promised.
The Ultima GTR is equally as sick, but it just doesn't have exotic appeal. It's like a really high-class, lightweight Pantera.
As far as sounds go...as much of a Ferrari fan as I am, I have to agree with Tiff say that Lamborghini V12s sound a bit better. "Alive" was his word...but I would say "angry" is more appropriate.
