Will milling the head change the cam timing? (retard)
up to the top.Common people. I am almost forsure that I am right. but i need some1 to vouch with some info. Common! I thought this was honda tech lol everyone here works on their own car and knows about thsi stuff on here right?? This should be an easy question for all you guru's out there
hey chill out..u posted at 10:34. its 11:22. lol. give it some time.
yes it retards the cam timing when u take away material from the head, or get a thinner headgasket, remove layers, etc etc. the reverse would advance the timing. correct way to get around this is to get an adjustable timing gear. this will take place on virtually any overhead camshaft (ohc) engine configuration.
i cannot be 100% sure on the following but i have heard that on dohc and sohc honda's, mainly b and d series, every .012 off the head retards timing by 1 degree. thats speculation though dont hold me to it.
