AEM CAI Cracked!! What to do (56K watchout)
Guys, I installed a CAI 4 months and just recently I was inspecting my car and look what I found:
As you can see, the welding suppport is clearly cracked/ripped. My question is,
1. Has anyone else experienced this problem in the past? (I searched already, no luck)
2. Should I contact AEM, is there warranty for these intakes?
Thanks in advance,

hmm are you using the soft rubber mount there that AEM gave you, or one of the stock rubber mounts? In my case, the rubber mount broke first so that it wouldn't crack the piping like that. THey are supposed to absorb the torsional forces and I've seen that happen to a few others, though I'm not sure if AEM warrantied it.
my friends aem cai cracked because there was this spot it was rubbing against. I dont think aem will do anything for you, you're pretty much screwed. sorry.
you can always buy a used aem cai...like my black painted AEM CAI.

That same thing happened to my friends, where it cracked right at the welds for the mount. Id call aem, there a big company and should be more then willing to send u a new one. They wouldnt want to get a bad rep
same thing that happend to me most likely the bolt was either too tight or the rubber thing wasnt soft enoug. i just switched back to the stock airbox with the diy ice box.

yep... seen it before...
the only thing i can suggest that would have prevented it, would have been to slide that mounting bracket all the way to the back(near the opening).
I think that might have been enough room for the slack it needed....
