anybody has ever seafoam their car??
i have a 94 camaro z28. and i seafoam it recently. the results were great. i wanna do the same thing to my civic. anybody has ever done it? i would like to plug it in on the intake vacumm. any instructions i should know?? thanks
I used to use it to clean out 2cycle snowblowers and trimmer after they say all season with fuel in them. Works great for that. Never tried it in my Civic though.

Yeah what is SeaFoam Green???
I used some cheap stuff at autozone and I put it in my oil before a change let it idle and gave it a few revs and changed the oil....pulled the valve cover to paint it and it was nice and clean in there!!!! 60k miles on my motor.....

Sea Foam is a internal engine cleaner. You want to go way out in the open to use it. Not in your garage( your neigbors will call the fire department on you) What you do is basicly remove the vacum hose off your intake and allow the seafoam to enter your cumbustion chamber, just let enough is to much will stall your car out, your car will start to smoke the a motha, what it does is it removes all the built up carbon off your pistons and valves9witch could result in lower CR in exetreme cases) I did it on my old VX motor, I didn't reall notice anything but then again it was a wussy 92hp beast. I was thinking about doing it to my new engine and seeing what happens..
Where can I get this ****??? I wanna try it....
your intake ???...I thought you could disconnect your brake booster line and feed it in t here....??

Ive done it on my old civic which now belongs to emerika twice, and my h22 civic once. Don't know if it helps but I try to do it every 10,000 miles or so. Gotta keep the rpm at about 3000 to keep from stalling though.
I think you can get it at NAPA. Did it once worked great but after a couple of months my O2 sensor took a ****. Don't know if it had to do with the cheaper O2 sensor form Autozone but then again it might not clogg up a original Honda sensor.
why not do what i do... just pull off the intake hose, rev to 3k, and slowly mist water into the throttle body with a spray bottle...

you can use seafoam as an internal engine cleaner. it worked really well in my camaro. to see sampe pics, of what the smoke looks like when you seafoam your car, go here http://www.acaenterprises.com/....html

Just a warning/recommendation, change your oil shortly after you do a seafoam job. SeaFoam will dillute your oil and you don't want that. After the car stops smoking, don't drive too much before changing it.
Ive used it before...didnt really notice anything one way or the other...except it smokes like a bitch right after you put it in!
hmmm..
I've heard to let the motor suck it up while its on through the power brake booster hose....let it smoke....clean the TB with that stuff......I neve rheard to drop a can in the gas tank....
I'll be doing this my next oil change in a few weeks....anyone wanna write up a honda how too??

Its really easy. You only need 1 can. SeaFoam is safe in the gas tank, the crankcase and in the combustion area. I've done all 3 at the same time. Here is the short version that SeaFoam says to do. You'll need a long vaccum hose (1'-1.5').
1. Warm up car, shut off car
2. Add 1/3 can into crankcase (oil fill hole)
3. Add 1/3 can into Gas tank
4. Start car, Remove a vaccum line (fuel pressure regulator line is fine), the idle should jump up.
5. Take the long vaccum line and put it to the intake port
6. Start revving the motor slightly to about 2k rpm or so, insert the open end of the vaccum tube into the remainder of the can of SeaFoam, the car will act like its going to die. Allow it to suck it all up and when its empty, shut the car off.
7. Let sit for 10-15 minutes to let the stuff do its job in the combustion chamber
8. Start car again, you may need to give it some gas to get it going
9. The car will smoke like a biaatch for a while, just keep it running for at least 10-15 mintues.
10. Drive it around for a while til it stops smoking.
11. Change your oil.
12. Drive it, it might smoke for a while afterwards still, this is completely normal
13. Repeat whenever you feel adventurous
By the way, you can get the same results from ATF as well. ATF is much easier to find and cheaper. But don't add it into the gas, some have used it in the crankcase to clean up the motor internally, but I have not.
