My skunk2 manifold review on my GSR.......LONG
First off let me say that i did not install it myself i am probly not to helpfull for install questions. Ok along with my manifold I installed a skunk2 p28 with an 8500 redline, itr tb, comptech short ram. My first impressions were that low-end was similar maybe i lost just a hair of torque. But this was ok cause the throttle response was MUCH crisper with the short ram and manifold over my old aem cai. Well today i went to tune my car with a vafc and fpr with hopes of besting my last pull which was 159.6 and 126.8. My first pass of the day right off the street was a 159.6 with 123ish torque, but my a/f ratio was quite choppy and to my suprise was running lean even with the skunk2 program. My next run after some tweaking with the vafc was 168.8 and 121.7. I was very happy with the hp but the a/f was still choppy and the powerband was very peaky. Next 3 pulls were pretty crappy cause the car was heatsoked. On my last run we let the car sit for about 15 minutes with ice on the manifol. On the last run i netted a 165.8 and 123.8 with a a/f ratio that was FLAT at just abotu 13:8:1-14:1:1. THe powerband was very very smooth. The crossover for all the runs was at 4800 and seemed to be perfect.
Driving impressions:
I have had limited time driving it since tuning but from 5000 on the car seems to pull much smoother and seems to rev up just a little faster.
Overall the mod was definantly worth it for the throttle response and gaines from vtec up.
P.S the uncorrected best number was 172.6 and the temp in the shop was hoevering around 100 degress with about 80 percent humidity.

jdm 4-1, comptech short ram, skunk2 manifold, apex n1, caround 2.5 inch cat, b&m fpr, itr tb, vafc, no p/s, and timing at 18 degrees
wow good review bro!
I've been thinking about putting the skunk2 on my gsr and was kinda questing it. Thanks for the writeup.

nice reveiw, I installed the Skunk 2 intake manifold w/ short ram about a week ago also. I have to go get it dyno tuned w/ hondata, but i didnt really see how people could say it kills your low end. There is like a little, emphasize LITTLE, loss of something below vtec, but its miniscule.
Overall its a great mod, me and my cousins car were dead even racing through all our gears, now I pull have a car length by 3rd, and just keep pulling
