Edelbrock Y8 Performer X intake manifold, now available!
As the title says! I heard that they are available as of this week, so if you're interested, call up your Edelbrock dealer and ask for it! Just like the Skunk manifolds, these first ones will probably go fast! This is the same manifold that's in their turbo kit, now available as a standalone manifold! Good for both boosted and NA cars!
and how nice of them to use my car in their advertising!

Yes, it had the secondary injectors partially machined. The only fuel injectors that will work with this manifold are the Pico fuel injectors that are available thru Edelbrock. Its too tight of a fit with Bosch injectors. Too add the secondary fuel injectors, you buy the fuel rail kit (4752) and the size Pico injectors you want, take a 7/16 drill and jsut finish the thru hole in the manifold. Install the injectors and the rail...and you are set. You will have to plumb the fuel though.
AWWW man, i hafta drill?!?!? thas jus too much work, then i gotta buy a rail?? and plumb it??? WTF!?!?!
J/K seems pretty straight forward and reasonable to me. What sizes are the pico injectors avail in? Price? & will they plug into the honda clips or do you have to go MacGyver on them?

LOL....well, just try to add a secondary set on a Skunk manifold!
Check here for fuel injector sizes, I think Summit sells them for $55 each.

No, they don't plug right into the Honda clip, but then, you'll still have those hooked up to the primary injectors! But I know you're better than MacGyver!

Actually Roger, I was thinking about using the Pico injectors with a new rail for my primary, with a higher flow rate. Would that work? Are the pico's avail with a honda clip?

For primaries, the Pico injectors are too short and they are only available in a GM style clip (same as Bosch I believe).
You'd be better off with the Edelbrock fuel rail, drilled for Bosch injectors. There are enough companies making both Honda injectors and Bosch style in higher flow rates.

You can use injectors that are Honda style, or any Bosch style injector, as long as they are a Saturated injector (10-13 ohm resistence).
The Bosch style injectors are taller than Honda's, and have a bigger top o-ring. The Edelbrock fuel rail drilled for Bosch injectors takes care of all that for you. It is drilled for the right o-ring, and has spacers to take up the height issues.

Saw this piece in person and we have one to install on our Y8 project.
Looking forward to putting it on soon.

I want to see some dyno comparisons against the Skunk2.

Or any other intake tube.
This could be a bad thing.

Why would they do that though?
I don't think the angle would be a problem actually. With the rubber hose to connect the tb and intake you bend it a little to make it fit.

Possibly why they angled the throttle body?
Possibly why they angled the throttle body?
The angled throttle body helps the flow distribution into the plenum. It helps the runner closest to the throttle body to not be disturbed by the charge coming in from the throttle body. The plenum is also positioned to make the runners straight. The angled TB flange also allows that plenum position without the throttle body and inlet pipe hitting fuel filter can. The air inlet pipe is a minor issue. The manifold is a good part. AEM and anyone else who wants to sell inlet air pipes will be making parts for this manifold.

but, this mani looks good...wonder how if goes against teh skank2</TD></TR></TABLE>
I highly doubt that the engineering team at Skunk2 is better than Edelbrock.
I can assume that there is more time in research and development on this Edelbrock manifold than the SKunk2.
