lots of sanding and then Mother's Aluminum/Metal Polish. The sanding takes alot of time though so be prepared.

Actually, what you could do is strip your rotas with aircraft stripper, so it's bare shiny metal, then tape off the lips, and repaint your rotas. Just a thought.

i've heard that the mother's aluminum stuff doesn't work... and i know there's a lot of sanding, i was told the procedure a long time ago, but i was told that u use like several different levels (can't think of that damn word) of sand paper to do it... thanks for the dremel idea, but i sort of want a bit more out of the lip

OMFG! This may be the dumbest/most dangerous thing I've heard of. I mean car isn't even on level ground...why run the risk just for a little shiny strip on the lip of the wheel?

BTW there was a post somewhere where a dude stripped the lip of a motorcycle wheel. It looked badass. He taped the inside of the wheel and used spray on aircraft paint stripper on the lip. I'll try to find it.

taping the wheel (5 thick *** spokes.. slipstream would be easy to tape off) and the paint stripper sounds good... then use fine sand paper or somethin??

Its not that big of a deal. If the car falls, which it won't, it will just stall.

something that IS dumb: a local guy put the back of his mustang up on stands and had his friend stand on the throttle in 5th gear to see how much his slicks deformed at 140 mph

Agreed...if the car falls it will stall and the mustang thing...definately stupid

Disagree..."which it won't" You don't know that dude...car on a slope, rear wheels unblocked, delco stands...beggin for trouble if you ask me...which you didn't ...just my retarded opinion.

However, the result of your risk taking did turn out pretty nice.
