**** How to install JDM carbon fiber window switches into your USDM integra ****
* If the pictures aren't up please check back later, damn Imagestation
*
Well everyone I finally did it. I recently purchased my JDM carbon fiber window switches and installed them today. The complete installation took about 2 hours, but I finally got it. I read in other posts that the JDM drivers side switch would not allow the auto roll down to work on the drivers side. I figured this out. However this involves dremeling. I'm am not responsible if anything goes wrong so please test fit everything and work slowly. Here it goes.
1. First begin by removing the 3 screws in the door panel:
2. Then pull along the bottom and sides of the door panel:
3. Remove the door panel by lifting up and back. Then unplug the 3 wires.
4. Take the a screwdriver and remove the screws that hold the switch.
5. On the passenger side you can easily install the JDM switch and here is the finished product
You don't need to dremel anything or even use your USDM switch.
6.Now with the driver's side switch cover removed, carefully examine the difference between the USDM (right) and the JDM (left) switch covers. Notice how the bottom hole is in a different place.
7. Now lets look at the actually buttons. Again USDM (left) and JDM (right).
8. You will use the JDM carbon cover on the USDM control box. Do you see the "on button" that's red and black. Take the JDM button off and put it on the USDM button control box. You will need to do this because the JDM switch slants the opposite direction and it will have a giant opening
9. Take the dremel and remove the plastic from the USDM control box shown here.
10. Turn the box over and drill a hole pointed by the pencil.
11. Next dremel the areas where the screw will go into. They slant to the left but you will need them slanted to the right.
12. Ok now install the JDM carbon piece and USDM control box piece. Notice how I haven't installed the buttons. Installing just the black box first allows easier access to the screws.
13. Carefully look at the white plastic piece I circled in red. You will need to find a small plastic piece (rectangular shape about 4mm) and crazy glue it on the black lever as shown. This will allow the pass on/off button to work. If you don't do this your button will not work.
14. Now install the buttons and cover.
14. Re-install the plugs and install the door panel. Here is the finished product!
Sweetness!!!!

I just dremel JDM Driver's Carbon plate until it fit the USDM switch and also drill an additional hole.

Cool, thanks for the info. Too bad you couldn't do that same thing with a JDM center console ?
Look at the Red/black pass on/off button. This is why you need to take the JDM button and install it onto the USDM box. Notice the big space left open because the USDM button doesn't match the JDM carbon piece.

If you're talking about the pass side vent, it doesn't come in carbon fiber.
I'm working on that piece now, I'll post pics

this is the most thorough step-by-step install of these i've seen
did mine last year with my brother and i had to guestimate and dremel bit by bit until i could retro-fit my usdm switches onto the jdm plate...very happy with the result though.
your lesson would have helped. nice job-

It's here for the Type R owners
And I got these for $45 shipped.

Nice write up too bad for all the haters.
I just had a quick question though. Has anyon ever thought of actually using REAL carbon fiber. I mean the Carbon pattern is nice but I kinda like the look of REAL carbon fiber.
I purchased some carbon fiber fabric and have even contemplated over laying some items with REAL Carbon fiber. Not hating as I am sporting the Type R Carbon LOOK myself but seriously contemplating using REAL carbon Fiber.

I have a friend you has a real carbon fiber dash kit. The pieces look nice. But the pieces are coated with resin.
