fabbing INTEGRA door panels for my hatch...
i have a 99 integra dash swap in my civic, and everything pretty much went in fine....i "fabbed" my own panels by using the STOCK civic door panels and melting/molding the plastic...it WORKS, but it really looks like ****.....i do have the integra door panels still...so....
i've seen quite a few people with teg door panels in their hatches, all i want to know is HOW DO I DO THIS??? i have the panels, what else do i need? thanks in advance!
PS, here's a pic, but you really cannot see the HUGE GAP that the door panel/dash creates...kinda ruins the whole swap...any suggestions?

i may just end up getting some new door panels (92-95) and just re-mold those having learned from my previous mistakes.....keep me posted bro

do you have any better pics of your door panels molded?? i have stock civic Si door panels that i can practice on but more pics the better.. basically i plan on heating the door panels up with a propane tourch and then installing the door panels and closing the door so it molds to the dash.. i hope to have the interior done by next week but funds may hold me back..
Just curious for all the people what do integra dash swaps. What do you do with the vin number that is in on the old dash? Do you take it off the civic and re-rivet (sp?) on the integra dash?

No don't do that. Then you will get a charge "Tampering with Vehicle Registration" at least where i live they will give you. keep the original VIN still on the teg dash and go to your honda/acura dealer and have them do it. cause they will put it in the computer.

damn i've never heard of that before. Honestly how many people are going to notice anyways, everyone that looks at my car doesnt even notice the dash untill i tell them that its a teg dash
anyways, heres a piuc of what i did even though it is a bit more work, it definaly looks nice in the end. I used the civic door panels and cut out where they hit the dash, i then remolded the cut areas to where they needed to be using fiberglass
I then got the pannels re wraped in black vynal and reinstalled them, believe me they look awsome, I just gotn it finished last week, so i'll get some pics today and post the final product

this is what i did...see pictures in sig...also I wouldn't worry about the vin number just swap it...honestly, I've had my dash in for a year and a half and i never get questioned... but then again it looks factory if done correctly!

That looks great
THis is the same route I am going with mine, just it's taking me a while to finish them as it isn't that high on my priorities right now.
IMO this is the best way for the money. If you've got the extra to fully custom fab the Integra panels in then go for it cause it looks awesome when done right.

its funny that you say that, the car went exactly one year to the day without the door pannels
and to answer a few questions...
they are civic panels, with new vynal sp?
i cut suports for the first layer of fiberglass out of wood and hot glued them to the back of the pannel in a skeloton fasion and layed the first layer of fiberglass over them, i then removed the wood and layed 2 more layers on the back side and one more on the front, i then used fibered bondo to fill in any low spots and sanded many times, the whole panel has to be sanded very well to get rid off all the old glue. I tried to wrap the pannels myself and failed on multiple attempts so i finally payed a guy to do them
any more questions just ask

I've got the dash, and door panels. I'm getting ready to do the conversion. The only part i DO NOT LIKE about my conversion is my dash is tan, and my car's interior is black, so i'm gonna have tan instead of black now =/
so i take it the integra coupe door panels will not attach correctly to a hatchs door?
i think the teg dash is awesome, makes the car look a lot more modern and less cheap... but maybe the setup ends up weighing more or something? any negatives other than no mint easy way to make the door panels line up?

Dont normally post on stuff like this, but god damn that turn out way better than anything ive seen. Damn good job on the fab skills. You should ****** sell those door panels prefabbed and make bank.
