so is Body Pros just a word of warning, everybody I've talked to says Wally lags. This is from personal experience too

Two weeks so far and my car isn't done yet. I actually dropped off my car a month ago to install my JDM front, but due to complications which were out of their control (actually mine and the importer I went through's fault) they weren't really able to start on it until 7/18 (when I dropped off the money for a new rear bumper). When I first dropped off the car, he said 10 days... when I dropped off the money for my rear bumper (7/18) he said the following Wednesday (7/23)... called that day, said Friday (7/25)... called then, he said Tuesday (7/29)... called Tuesday, he said Thursday (7/31)... called today, he said call tonight to see if it'll be done by tomorrow.

Oh well... everybody says that Wally lags, but his quality is top notch I still have faith in Body Pros since they were the ones who did the first JDM conversions here in the states (back in what, '96/'97?) Hopefully I can make the In-n-Out meet in Pico Rivera on Saturday

EXAMPLE OF BODY PROS WORK!!! THIS LOOKED LIKE THIS AFTER 2 WEEKS OF GETTING MY CAR BACK FROM THEM!!!

I got my hook up from the shop owner derek himself, and was refered there from kinesis racing... but there was a shitload of art n motion cars there that showed up after mine was brought in... guess who;s car's got serviced first and it took 3 months to get my car back from him.

Derek was a super cool and cooperative guy but, the time and quality of the work sucked.

yeah... and my car was painted back in 2001... luckily most of the paint stayed on... now its spiderwebbing which I noticed the last time I waxed it which was last week... and thats on all parts that were painted by body pros..

they didnt even buff off the pass side of the car that they repainted much less did they spray primer under the layer of paint they put on it... they spayed a thin *** layer of some white **** and then chalked on the red paint and its chippin like famous amos right now.

they didnt wetsand it after they left that finisher **** all on the pass side of my car for a week... or put anymore than a single coat of clear over the shitty paint.

body pro's

when it comes to my money you only get one time to make a first impression...

the front lip fell off the car, they superglued it to the car instead of ordering brackets from honda and the rear bumper was salvaged, and the front bumper is from a silver ex and the lip was from a blue si.

and he made more than 2 grand off the job.

the black lip that is on there now is not my original lip, I just purchased that and gave it a 10 dollar autozone paint job and its holding up a lot better than any of the paint on my car right now.

**** body shops period.

supposedly when Derek was in charge of things, Body Pros was going downhill. Now with Wally in charge things are supposedly picking back up. At least that's what Denny said in one of his posts... anyhow doesn't Body Pros give a lifetime warranty on their paint work?

Damn,
I got my car repainted at place close to my house. They did a decent job on it for the price I paid, but they didn't paint the engine bay. I ended up spraying it black myself. Now Id like to go back and have a decent shop match my engine bay to the rest of the car.

I don't know who Derek is (although his name is all over the business cards) but I only dealt with Wally and Monica. From what I hear, Wally is the owner and Derek doesn't do **** anymore. So like I said, supposedly they're doing a lot better than when Derek used to run things. I guess I'll find out when I get my car back.

ive had my car for about 2 months from bodypros. no chipping at all. as of now derek no longer works there b/c of the bad quality paint jobs he did. The reason why back then it took long was b/c derek would paint peoples car for free and not charge them thus, having more cars which made things take a very long time. i agree that the paint job they did was very poor on your lower car of your car and should be redone by them. i can only say that everybody shop is going to have "mistakes" and some cars wont come out the as good as others. but now that only wally and monica run things, things have gotten much much better. From past friends that have gotten work there and friends that got work there now. with my car (it being black) you could notice every little scratch and imperfection, wally told me to bring the car back in 2 months to get it refinished (wetsand and buff). I am in no way friends with bodypros and if they did a shitty job on my car i would let you guys know it.
everybody says that MOB does a awsome job on paint and front end conversion. but if you really know how to paint and install a front end, it will take a lot longer than 3 days to do. to do a really good prep job takes almost around 1.5 days. if you want to see his work look at zer0zer0 typer's paint job done by MOB works and tell me whos paint is chipping more.
if you want to see my cars paint job and how well it is holding up, ill try to make it to the socal meet. btw, my car is not a garage ***** and i drive around 100 miles aday on freeway and streetroads and my cars paint still looks perfect. and the reason why some cars take so long is that wally and monica want everycar to come out perfect, but with all the work they do they cannot inspect every single car that goes out. Also 137 you should take your car back to body pros and tell them your situation, wally and monica are very reasonable people and will prolly work out a deal with you
