Now making: Custom Downpipes
As I'm sure a lot of you guys already know, I've been making custom downpipes individual sale and for use with my turbo kits for some time now. I've been getting a lot of IM's on this so I thought I'd put up a thread on it all.
There are two basic styles, the Revhard/Drag/Inlinepro compatible downpipes, and MaxRev/Swift Performance/most everything else dowpipes. 4 and 5 bolt flanges can both be accommodated, and up to two O2 sensor bungs are free. Flexpipe is standard on each unit.
From there, there are four sizes:
1) 2.5" from the turbo to the cat (a/c compatible) - $175
2) 2.5" reduced to 2.25" for the stock cat - $175
3) 2.5" flared to 3" - $200
4) 3" from the turbo to the cat - $200
For an additional $25 I can add support to any of those units for a Electric Exhaust Cutout. In the best setup (IMO) you can use one of to give yourself an immediate virtually zero backpressure exhaust for the strip/track, while retaining the stock exhaust for daily driving, while only spending $300 for the whole thing.
I'll continue taking orders until August 8th, when I'm going to stop for a month while I go back to school. However, I will definitely resume selling these and everything else on the site at the end of September.
Do be advised that I cannot guarantee that each unit will line up with your catalytic converter, simply because so many people but them in so many different places. The standard setup puts the flange exactly where the Maxrev unit does, but if you can tell me exactly how many inches out from the turbine discharge the flange needs to be, I can do that.
And last but not least, pictures:
I'll post more pictures as soon as I can and of course, you're always welcome to check my many other products at www.swift-performance.com

Building Downpipes for Greddy setups isn't a problem whatsoever. I made one a few weeks ago, but I didn't take pictures, unfortunately.
I can put on a flange to connect to the cat, or extend the downpipe to delete the cat and bolt on to the exhaust. I just need to know the position of the cat with respect to the turbo and what flange you're looking for (2.5" or 3" two bolt flanges are standard)

just order one from Kteller8 for mandrel bent 3 inch.

Do these come with the flange already welded on? (Flange @ exhuast piping/cat) Im using inline pro manifold with 5 bolt precision sc34 and mktellers exhuast piping. I may be interested in the 2.5 flaring to 3" downpipe. Also does this price include shipping?
Damn. Where was this post 2 months ago.
I just spent NEARLY $200 on a 2.5" to 3" transition, 3" donut, a pair of 3" U bends, and a BUTTLOAD of flanges from RRE for the wastegate tubing, 3" exhaust, and 5 bolt flange.
Oh well. It'll be together soon enough.

anybody with basic welding skills can make the same thing for under $50, pre bent mandrel tubing is cheap, your prices seem a little steep for something that doesnt have nice clean tig welds

99% of the population doesn't have basic welding skills. Pre bent mandrel is not too expensive, but a revhard/maxrev downpipe is expensive. There's no way it costs $50 to make a downpipe. The turbo flange alone is $25 or so, the o2 bung is $11 (for the K&N one, the only one readily available that I've seen). A good downpipe generally requires 2 bends, which is approx $30.. and then you have to figure general materials and the cost of the welder.
Bottom line is this: He's making something and selling it for more than it costs him. Funny how this 'business' thing works isn't it?
