Instructions and parts to make a valve adjustment tool??
Hi everyone,
I recall awhile back someone made a custom valve adjustment tool with a socket and welding something to it. Can someone please tell me how to make one. Would i be using a 10mm deep socket or regular also??
Thanks for the help,
eric

I don't know about that post , but a friend of mine made one using a deep 10 mm socket welded to the box end of wrench. To get a 10 mm socket into the box end of a wrench I would have to say it may need to be maybe 12 or 13mm in size or so, you can play around with it to see what size is needed. But I just spent a few more bucks and bought the right tool through my Honda dealer, all you need is the one special wrench tool part ( not the two parts), and then use a long flat head screwdriver with it and a 17mm box end wrench to fit over the special tool. It may be a few more bucks but less things to worry about, besides once you start doing your own valve adjustments the money you save is well worth spending a bit more on good tools. hth.

yah man. I did it.
welded a box wrench righ tto the top of a 10mm DEEP socket.
make sure you get it welded at an angle, maybe 40 degrees from the horizontal if the deep socket is standing tall on a table... this is to clear the edges of the head.
so, say if your deep socket was 4 inches tall, you could go perpendicular to the side of the deep socket, bu tsince most deep sockets are 2.5 inches or less, you have to get the box wrench at a slight angle.
cost me a grand total of 7 bucks, and some welding from my job... cool.
works great.
I can get you a pic if you need one... gimme a few days.
heck I'll put one up anyhow, so people can see you do NOT need a 50 dollar tool for the valve adjustments.
