Default The dreaded exhaust question.....

Alright, I got my DC Sports 4-2-1 CC header the other day and its sittin in my back seat. Waiting to ge the exhaust to install it all at once but can't pick one. I want moderate power gains and nothing to super loud. Something with a deep tone. I want it to sound nice and powerful, not all ricey and farty. Right now I am shooting for the Greddy Evo but not sure how that huge tip will look on the back of my SI. Does anyone have any pics of that exhuast on a coupe? One of the shops is also trying to push the Tanabe setup on me but not sure how I like that huge polished muffler. Anyone have any other suggestions? I looked at RS*R but think it will be too quiet and "tinny" sounding. Also, if you have any suggestions for different exhaust try to give me price ranges. I can get the evo out here for $450.

Thanks in advance.

Did the search, not much comes up at all and nothing that deals with the Evo anyways.

A'PEXi N1 w/ custom piping.

I paid $230 exhaust + $150 piping = $380

I like it

Everyone who has one says its the best but I've noticed on here that everyone thinks whatever they have is the best. You got a link to some info on that setup? I want to read up on it.

Have yet to hear an N1 setup that didn't sound overly loud and ricey. Not saying yours isn't done right, just haven't heard one in person yet that I liked.

I heard about those thermal Catback exhaust systems. are they loud, if they are, i'll be satisfied. BUT, i want it to be an exhaust that isn't all about sound. I like loudness, its just that I want an exhuast that delivers more HP when you use it . does it make a loud non-fart non-ricey sound and has good power for the dollar?
Right now, I say, Tenzo R Or Bomz Racing< Big Time.

I'd be happy to let you hear my T1R anytime. It's quite nice in my opinion.

I have an RS-R exhaust and it was really quiet until I got my RS-R SS header, it is definitly louder now but not intrusive. a header adds so much noise I couldn't emagine haveing a fart can like the apexi N1 and being able to stand my car with a header. Also no tinnyness noticed here.

LOL my sentiments exactly
Now, my suggestions would be something simple. I say go with an axleback first, and from there, get piping. Or you can just have your shop custom fab something one a muffler of your choice. No biggie.

Now someone mentioned something about the Greddy SP. My buddy had one several years ago on his single cam and it sounded nice. How does the evo compare to it soundwise and powerwise? And to the person with the red coupe with the evo catback, thanks for the pics. No offense but the pics of that make me want it even less. I don't know why but the tip just looks huge.

Go with N1, best exhaust one the market in, IMO, except mabey Apex GT Spec, but you know 800$ for exhaust isn't in my budget
