Default The Ultimate Header ?

I recieved my AN-R D series Header in March. As far as I know I still have the only pair on a street car and more than a couple people have asked how I like them

1. Even when the 1.5l dual point DX motor was stock these headers with a 1 piece side exit catless exhaust made considerable power

2. They cost you ac and ps which many people have already removed anyway

3. The 02 sensor bung needs to be ordered on a right side config

4. The mild steel is great but if you can afford to get stainless

5. They should be hi temp coated. As they generate considerable heat

6. They are a super tight fit, I would recommend if you weld on the exhaust to get an aftermarket cross member

7. Asingle width radiator is a good idea to prevent heat soak and aid in cooling of underhood temps.

8. Sadistic is the word to describe the boom exiting my car now

9. Ground clearance is excellent

10. The f-1 "look" alone is worth 5 billion hp - ok maybe not but they do sure look pretty damn sic for all the bling blingers out there

It is my oppinion that nothing can touch these for less than 3x the money as far as power and throttle response and I really see most other headers as a joke in light of this

I see your analysis and comparison of this header "a joke"

I have nothing against an-r and their headers. But just because it looks like a high output race engine header, does not mean in anway in can compare to others just becuase it looks better.

If its soo bad ***, and most other headers are a joke, then back up your trash talking with some dyno numbers.

perception of hp on the street is total worthless. whenever its louder, people always percieve it as being faster.

Beautiful header. I'm sure it makes some great gains. I'll probably end up ordering one for myself down the road, largly because the ground clearance.

Now he does. I really want to some some dyno numbers on these style AN-R headers. Their long straight primary one I can see the advantages of, but I really would like to see one of their "spaceship" headers compared. You have to admit though, Bisi is one of FEW people that would need a header like that or of similar magnitude on a D-Series motor.

Bisi is producing his own brand of header for D series and B Series. I have one. And here's a picture of it on my motor.

I think it's funny now, how people throw Bisi's name around trying to justify that their D-series isn't the suck. Name one other person with a fast D-series...or name one person with a fast D-series Street Car...All_motor.

Oh Wait, there isn't anyone...

Not saying it's not possible...because I'm sure it is, but more cubes = more potential.

Dont misunderstand me but what the hell do all of those fancy curves accomplish that a normal looking 4to1 header with the same features (reversion chambers and pipes that step up in size) doesnt do?

All I really know is the basics (maby less) about exhaust systems is that you need a slight amout of restriction and smooth flowing. So dont jump all over me.

BTW: Those do look really cool. But I doubt thats the reason why they are made that way.

That was exactly the point of my previous post Dave. Could someone please explain to me if the "curley q" headers do infact offer advantages with exhaust scavaging effect and the like? I mean their has to be an advantage somewhere. I know like Indy/F1 and other types of racecars used them, but was this just to acheive long primaries/headers within short clearence spaces or what?

"I see your analysis and comparison of this header "a joke""

I see your lack of comprehension when it comes to sarcasm as a JOKE

"I have nothing against an-r and their headers. But just because it looks like a high output race engine header, does not mean in anway in can compare to others just becuase it looks better."

again your answer is just silly

"If its soo bad ***, and most other headers are a joke, then back up your trash talking with some dyno numbers."

How about the fact that the top "5" cars all motor cars are all using headers made by the same individual of basically the same design wheather it says Ericks Racing, Bisimoto or AN-R there are only minor differences

I put them on a DX motor because I am building that DX motor right now for road racing. I have converted it to MPFI for anyone wondering

The whole point of the headers is not they way they look but that you end up with a true equal length design with an excellent collector but without sacraficing ground clearance, which in fact is almost stock

I would have dyno numbers but why waste the money and time at this point when I am building a seperate d16 to replace this engine which I am sure after 190k miles has less than great leakdown #'s

However I had 1 piece Jasma ZC headers on the DX before and the car is noticably faster.

I understand the whole ground clearence thing, but that is really the only advantage. The top 5 racers are using the same designer, however they are not all using similar designs. Also Jasma is not a company. It's a smog approval.
