Default finally i got ctr lights.... how to: ctr lights and Benen tow hook (56killer)

so i finally found a deal and got me the CTR headlights that everyone's been telling me to get . i got a set of benen tow hooks for free from them at the HIN show in san mateo (thanks benen ind. ) so i finally installed just the rear, the front is a little more complicated so i'll do it someother time

before

first remove the bumper to access the lower bolts for the headlights. there are four 10mm bolts that hold the headlights, two on top and two under. undo the bulb sockets from the headlight unit. dont forget to remove the black bar under the headlight that holds the bumper for ease of headlight removal.

i used rear license plage light sockets from a 96-00 civic for the city light. works perfect

i believe the correct way to wire the city light is to have them on with your parking lights, well that's how i wired them. i fixed my side marker while i was at it (the side marker stayed on as a constant and blinked not JDM .

wiring city lights
driver side...........
pictured below are three wires from the blinker in the headlight housing. the two wires that are tapped are for the side marker (blink only), green wire with red stripe and black wire. for the city light use the black wire and red wire with black stripe (constant).

passenger side..................
ok to the passenger side. for the side marker use the green wire with yellow stripe and black wire to make it blink only. the wires tapped in the picture already are for the passenger side marker. for the city light use the red with black stripe and black wire for the constant.

now reverse the process and whaaaLa.

pics
it got dark

i did it myself dammit!

benen tow hook. at first i wasnt sure what it was or where this thing goes
magnifign glass?

in my bung hole?

no it goes here
two nuts and bolts. you would think both bolts go through the tow hook, but no. the outter most bolt goes through the tow hook and the inner most hole goes on the outside of the tow hook. pretty simple install, just tighten and whaaaLa

just having some fun on a boring friday night

the ctrs should light just the citys on park light, and the turn signal is a signal only, not a park light....dig? At least that's the way the CTR EKs I've seen work...(and thats the way mine work too ) Got them tow hooks too Kid, but I'm on the East coast, and my car is FBP, but I'm for sure looking a lot like yours....

Now, do they mean "fragile glass" in the sense that it is glass-like, and it could break like glass...Or were they just too lazy to change it to say "fragile plastic".

ever seen what a Honda EK headlight looks like after a wreck? the insides shatter like glass...I think "FRAGILE GLASS" is acceptable to keep the ***** from UPS from throwing it around like a rag doll.

why would you put a tow hook on, are you trying to advertise to the theives of how easy access they have on stealing your car?

I don't think he is worried about anyone stealing his car. I don't
think that he just leaves it out on the street. If someone wants
it bad enough to tow it, then I don't think much is going to stop
them. "Its just one more thing that makes it easier." Well, Ware
do you draw the line? Build yourself a steel cage to drive into.
wait, they could get into that to.
