I just ordered my SSR from the Tire Rack. I'm Getting 17s for the street because I already have 15inch race wheels and tires. The Racks recommended size is a 17x8 with a 48 offset, However My Wholesale rep sells all the SSR wheels to REALTIME for there ITRS and they use 17x7.5, 42mm offset, so thats what I ordered. Does anyone else have a 17 SSR and what size/offset do you have?

I would have prefered 16s but Tire rack does not have them. I'll get some pictures next week and post them with my new, c/f hood, new wheels, and GSR spoiler.

Matt,
What size tires? Anything wider than 205's on those wheels is probably going to rub unless you mill down your wheels or so a serious fender roll job.

Realtime runs a 17x7 SSR rim. However, that size is not available to the general public.
When the RealTime team was here at Mosport outside Toronto (like any Speedvision Touring Car race) the fans can go into the pits and chat with the pit crew members. The size is no secret. You can walk right up and chack out the cars and ask questions and take photos. Here are some of mine:
they run 225/45ZR/17 (major offset modifications) shave Toyo T1's on SSR Competition aluminum 7.5 x 17 in rims.
they even put the "secret" info on their website! http://www.realtimerl.com./working1.html
cheers
First off, those SSR's are a total ripoff of the Advan RG! They look almost exactly the same. Also, in that last pic, the fender looks like it has lost a major battle with a baseball bat. I don't think that wheel/tire combo would fit without some major rolling.
I want to get to the bottom of this: Does Realtime use the 17's because they are required to, or do they use them because the handling iprovement outweighs the acceleration loss?

I have my 17 x 7.5 42mm offset which is the same as on the realtime cars. I am running 205/40/17 tires and the car is lowered with Apex n1 Coilovers. The wheels fit fine, If someone can post pics I'll email the pics to them

the 25 in. wheel diameter afforded with the 17 in. rims is 2 in. over stock but is compensated for with a JDM final drive. So I guess they are doing this for the tire width gain. Toyo T1's suck...sorry but it's true...compared to Yokes or the new Vector Rated Kuhmos...I wish Yokohama would sponsor that series. I'm sure the Toyo owners will jump all over me now.
As for the baseball bat fenders, remember Kleinubing punted Roger Foo and his teamate Hugh Plumb off for the win at Mosport which is where I took these pics , so they are kinda dented from hard work climbing from 17th to 1st
At least he got fined for it.
I'm sure they roll the fender if that's what you are saying....

BTW- does anyone have pics of the SSR Cometitions in 16 or 17 inch on their ITR?
