your getting screwed. just go to a junk yard and get a b20z with lower miles for the same price or less. that's how they are getting the motors so you would just be cutting out the middle man.

so where exactly do you think these shops get their motors?? cars get wrecked all the time to the point where insurance won't fix them. they end up going to auctions and are bought by junk yards. i got my b20z from a 2001 crv at a junk yard and most of my friends bought their motors the same way.

but if you want to be a sucker and pay the shop a few hundred extra dollars for the same motor....be my guest.

I know right? A B series motor wouldnt even last 2 days here in upstate NY... I couldnt imagine it over in the west!

I can see it now -- 20 seconds after an accident happens someone is already finding out who the guys car insurance is and compiling a list of the junkyards this company uses and they are waiting in the yard the moment the car arrives

we have a street in north houston (airline) where a lot of import car junk yards are located. i'm not even exagerating there are junk yards with fields of just integras stripped almost completely.

i realize the demand is high but in TX there a lot of hondas on the road and they get wrecked all the time. you just need to go to one junk yard and let them know what you are looking for. if they don't have it they will send a message out and all the other junk yards around hear it and they let you know who has what you're looking for.

is that for just a longblock? that's expensive for a b20B. maybe i need to open a shop because those guys are making a hell of a profit for used motors

Well then you're ******* retarded.

Osaka sucks ***. You will probably never see your money or that B20 block because you're LAZY.

Try Import Auto Salvage - 1-800-962-8922 and ask for Larry Jr. or Randy.

Sorry if I seem harsh, but you've got 15 people telling you that Osaka rips people off, yet you STILL want to buy from them?

I swear to God if you get ripped off from them (not if, but when) you had better not post your sob story here - you will get no sympathy.

I got mine from car-part.com a listing of junk yards across the country.
2001 CRV with 1500, not 15000, but 1500 miles on it for $1020 shipped. I know it was a little expensive, but I didn't have to do any work to it, e.g. water pump, t-belt, etc.
I just looked up a b20 on there, on pages 4 thru 5 of the search, there are like 20-30 99-01 crv engines ranging from 800-1000 dollars.

I got mine from All Foreign in Nebraska, and they came through great for me.
Do some research, call around, and choose

HA HA!! This had better be a joke right!!! This better not be Osaka's poor attempt to help their reputation... Registering a fake name and trying to get a good response on honda-tech....yeah well..if not..good luck with whatever you do..but i dont' understand why you would go with them, after all of this negative feedback we have given you...its like..we told you the milk your about to buy has jizz in it..and yet you still wanna buy it hoping you got the "ONE" bottle that doesn't have jizz in it...PUhaHAhaHA...just ******* with you man...but good luck on getting your motor in "good" condition or actually, getting your motor at all..you'll need it!

I've got a theory about Osaka, and for any other dishonest establishment for that matter.

I've been emailing a guy in Montreal trying to find the most reputable place to get an engine. All he said about Osaka is that locals don't seem to be having problems with them.

Well, Any engine supplyer that gets these jdm engines shipped in is bound to get bad ones, incomplete ones, and broken parts. Well, what better way to get get rid of them by sending them to someone on the the other side of the continent who just paid 300 for shipping. Chances are the customer is not going to come knocking on their door looking for a refund.

I don't know tho, 'cause i havn't bought one from them. I emailed asking them about their bad rep. He actually said that all these bad posts are form their competitors that are getting "killed" by their prices. ...sure buddy. I clicked on all the forum "reference links" on their site (this was one) and they all say crap about them.

I also asked about coming in to pick out and pick up my own one. he said they do not allow their customers to do that. They ship only. I said i will never trust my money to that and then he said i CAN come and pick out my own engine.

I'm still pricing my swap and gather reputation info on the 5 suppliers that i know of in Montreal. What i'm going to end up doing is bring my bros truck and visit each shop til i find what i want. I don't trust a single one of these afghany donkey prodders.

I went with Osaka despite all the bad press and I had no huge problems. The shift linkage I got was bent but came with a C's short shifter, so i bent back the shift linkage and viola! it worked fine. Besides that the only problem was I needed a few bolts.
