Default How much pressure can stock b20 sleeves take?

Just how high can I up the compression ratio before the stock sleeves fail? What about "posting" cylinder walls?

importbuilders says the most if can take is 12.6:1 cr without detonation.
w/o Detonation = Good Tuning.

Bump!!!

I'm getting power hungry and sleeving would be a real pain in Australia.

Any other opinions? I'm looking at some IB 11.8's on standard sleeves. Opinions on that????

Omniman would be a real good person to talk to to extract the most out of a stock sleeved B20 running under 12:1 and still making great power.

I too saw the LA sleeves at importperformanceparts.net and I can get them installed for free, that's why I want those... but B20 is not listed on there site...

im pretty sure this is it.

http://www.lasleeve.com/

RS Machines uses LA Sleeves too..you can probably get the sleeves them selves from them too.

Remember, you get what you pay for..in this case..whats free may cost more later...

Peace,

for boast??
No.

for High reving B20VTEC...?
Maybe/No.

If you have a low compresion (under 11:1) with some tuning then you can pull it off..but youll need some good tuning. This is the edge of the envelope, if you wanna push it more then itll go/blow sooner rather then later.
Sure many people have ran higher in stock sleeves..but its sucks when you put all that money in just to have it blow up on you. When you couldve spent more money and enjoyed all of it.

B20 sleeves suck!! Don't waste money keeping them!! I built my motor 3 years ago, and it crack 3 sleeves in 6 months on 11.0:1!! I still made 190hp, and 140lbs on the dyno ttw (smoked like hell though!). Just sleeve it!!
