So I am walking in Boston on my way home and I see a bunch of bright lights lighting the street, power cable almost 2 inches thick running everywhere, and a bunch of people, cameras, & crew.
So I sat down on the stairs to one of the shops on the street to wait and see what was being filmed. Just as they were about to start shooting this scene for this Movie one of the Crew members notices me and runs over to ask if I'm just watching or an Extra (Note to self: Next time say Extra ) I tell him I'm just watching and wondering what they were filming, he mumbles something about a Movie called Spartan with Val Kilmer and rushes me off to the side with the rest of the onlookers.
I stuck around for a bit longer and watched all the Movie magic. Its amazing how much work goes into a 30 second scene, and the way they setup all the ambiance lighting.
After they finished the Scene they were filming I went to the local Deli that they paid to stay open til 4AM to supply food and drink to the crew and cast. I buy a Spring water and who do I see on my way out the door? Val Kilmer. So I introduced myself and asked about the Movie, said he couldn't tell me too much but that the Movies premise is that the Presidents Daughter is Kidnapped and put into a Prostitution ring and that he is somehow the one who saves her. His Character is a Security Gaurd (Not sure of what).
I'm guessing that the boy he is speaking too in the Scene is somehow related to him as he was giving him advice, it also seems that this Boy is either the Presidents Daughters boy friend or someone close to her. I think the Actor playing the boy is the same guy who played Pyro in Xmen2. It seems like it will be a Decent Movie but who knows.
Also met a Hot Blonde from one of the local colleges while I was watching all this, should be hearing from her since she wanted a copy of the Pics.

Cliff Notes: Watched a scene of a movie being made, met Val Kilmer and had a conversation with him about the Movie, Met a Hot blonde girl

You should have gotten the ITR in there, but like you said you were on foot.

Nice story. I met Van Kilmer too, in Tucson Arizona in a club called Club Congress during the filming of Tombstone. It is really weird talking to celebrities. they are just like us, just wayyyyy more loaded..lol

Yeah it was fun times, I just found out today that earlier they were filming in the commons and a friend of mine told me that she was an extra in that scene.

Yeah I don't think it ever aired over on the East Coast, if it was released.

 

Cool stuff,

I was an extra in a movie awhile back (super sucker, Jeff Daniels has his own movie production company and that is his latest indy movie), and I was also surprised at how much time went into filming so little.

I think for the five hours I was there, there was about 20 seconds of film that got into the final movie.

This is very unusual...They almost NEVER let anyone photograph a set of a new movie being filmed let alone allow you to sit and watch.

I went to NYC today and saw Beyonce perform(sooooo hot. dear god what I WOULDNT do to her given the chance) and got second row seats to Conan OBrian.

You shoulda said extra man. One of my best experiences was being an extra in a movie. I was an extra Viet soldier (even though im chinese) in "We Were Soldiers" I got to meet Sam Elliot and participate in the biggest battle scene of the movie and shoot real guns with blanks. It was a great time

 

You should get a moive deal know to make ****.. Hell ya that would be sweet. Ask Val for some help..
