Automatic CRX?
I was just wondering if 90-91 SI crx's could only come in standard or was there and option to get them in automatic, if so i would like to see some pics of a automatic SI.
Actually you could order Si's in 88 as an automatic for special order only. They were not ordered much because of the extra costs and most people just got the DXs. I have done alot of research on this topic and know of a few 88 CRX Si's that have auto trannies, but only about 3 of them, and they are all in British Columbia. Maybe that is where they were only offered. They are more rare than the CRX-TT Convertable. TT doesnt mean Twin Turbo I think it means Transferable Top.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Canada.
Honda always gives Canada weird versions, like SE's and Std.'s,
or like the Canadian 2000 Civic Si was called an SiR in Canada.
By the CRX-TT, you mean the del sol with the power top? Like they had in
Japan, right?
Not a Mk2 or what we in the US call the 2G CRX, the 88-91. And in
Europe they call it a Mk2 or ED7.

this is a convertible CRX off an Australian importers website...it says that it is an aftermarket job, but does the CRX TT look similar to this, or more of a targa ala the del sol?
cheers

But which gen. CRX , 1st, 2nd or 3rd?
And was it ever offered to the public?
Or was it a one-off or display model or show car?
Or some Jesse James kind of deal?
Anyone have more info on a power top convt. CRX, out there?

CRX-TT was not like that from the factory, a few (hundred?) were done by a shop in the early 90's. I use to know the whole story but forget everything now. Point is there was no convertable crx from the factory.

Just to clarify about the CRX-TT. The TT was not made in the Honda Factory in Suzuka. The cars were imported by Honda and placed with a company in California, I think they were called Palms something. Anyways they made the CRXs convertables and they were sold through the dealerships after the conversion was completed. Some guy was selling a Palms brochure and a Local Honda brochure on the CRX TT on eBay. I had the images saved on my comp but I accidentally deleted them with a bunch of other rare CRX stuff. Just thought that you would like to know.
