Fuel Polarizer - Bull siet?
I was at a car show yesterday, and I found this thing in my car.
Apparently you wrap a coil of wire around your fuel line and the magnetic field generated in the coil is supposed to polarize your fuel and generate 15-20% fuel savings.
This seems like bunk to me. Has anyone else heard of such a thing? It's list price is about 80 bucks Canadian.

I've got something something similar on mine but no wires, it just 2 half-pipe magnets and they go over the fuel line close to the intake manifold, when I tested this the car seemed smoother, I was using 95 ron fuel at the time it made the car feel more like it was running 98 ron, I'm still using this now. The one I got was tested in Germany on a Nissan Skyline and gave a extra 14hp can't remeber if it's to the wheels or crank though. Now that I've told all of you this I'm just waiting for the ricey insults to come my way!! Come on you guys say it!!

Don't really know the mechanism by which increases in fuel atomization occurs. Keep in mind there is much strange things left unknown to Physics! Maybe there is something to it. I dunno.
2% improvement on the dyno is considered within measurable error, btw. So a few bhp may not be anything at all. It's exceedingly difficult to monitor everything and have identical run conditions. I don't necessarily believe that there will be as large as 15 bhp, but there just may be something to it in a highly compressed and rich atmosphere as found in a force inducted vehicle.
If the car runs smoother and with better economy then I'd say there's something to it though it will be difficult to ascertain.
I saw the two powerful magnets at Harbor Freight and I thought about it. It was only $15, but I passed.
Can you keep us posted???

As per my link:
"The proof of the benefit of SEV system is found in the Formula Nippon car racing."
"SEV Racing special version (same system used in Formula Nippon - Japanese formula racing ) Price: from $2,600.00
How much horsepower increase can you expect?
Based on Junich (J's racing president)'s experience, SEV regular set adds 6 to 10 horse power to S2000, and Racing special version will increase the horse power by 15 to 20 with J's raicng reprogrammed N1 computer.."
All ya gotta do is follow the link...
Is it true? Dunno.
The theory seems solid but for the money, the percentage yielded does not seem like a viable return.

On a completely different level and not equating the following link with the J's product, you might be in line for an "ElEcTrIc SuPeRcHaRgEr Yo!"

As far as I know magnets only have influence on some metals. Are there any metal parts in gasoline?
To ionize things, you need an electric static field, not a magnetic field.

Some interesting links.

I myself don't know what to make of this although I am curious and kinda want to try it out (rather let someone else do it though).

Thanks for the comments guys...I got it for free, so no matter if it works or not. I'm going to try it on my Corolla, since it's boosted and maybe by chance I'll notice some performance gains. I'll update here.
