any1 with dyno results from a comptech race header?
I've been patiently waiting for ANY dyno results with this header. I am considering this header or another high price header but I would like to stick with comptech if the gains make it worth while.

Yes, the "Comptech race header" is a copy of the HyTech header.

it is? I dont understand why comptech would copy HyTechs header??? That doesnt sound right. Doess the comptech have the anti reversion system hytech headers have?

For the same reason that HyTech would copy Mugen's exhaust - it's well designed and an excellent selling product. Plus they don't have to incur R&D costs, so they can copy it and reproduce it for less.

Obviously it's going to make the same amount as everybody else has been making with the HyTech. I don't see why it would make different power because a different name is branded on it. Neither HyTech or Comptech have any magical JDM fairy dust to sprinkle on it. The tube diameters, length, pairing, it's all the same. It's the exact same header minus the anti-reversion chambers which aren't something you'd see on a dyno anyway.
I asked Comptech for specs on the header and they matched up perfectly to my HyTech header. 1-5/8 to 1-3/4 to 1-7/8 primaries to 2" secondaries to 2-1/2" collector. Lengths are similar give or take an inch on the secondaries to match up their race exhaust or aftermarket exhausts with the supplied adaptor. So they are exactly the same and are going to make the same power on the dyno.
Comptech race header fits up without removing or modifying the transmission/block brace.
Therefore, they are not identical.
Regardless, you are right, powerwise, they should be the same or very similar.

That's true it does, I think they added a little length on primaries to do get it to fit like that at the cost of reduced ground clearance.

This is true. But this does consitute a slight redesign. Lets not leave out the lack of anti reversion chamber stuff too.

I woudl expect power to be similar but one can only speculate on the power curve similarities. SMSP has MUCH better clearance.

Why I went w/ Comptech:
-$300-400 Cheaper. That covers tuning and then some.
-In stock, ready to ship. I didn`t want to wait.
-Excellent clearance
-I`ve had a good experience with a number of their parts in the past
-Most Acura Dealerships will overlook Comptech Goods and still do warranty work (at least the ones I go to down here)

My primaries and secondaries are sized differently, plus I vary the throat diameter of the final collector based on mods.

I too will be looking into the Comptech Race Header. Not only is it similar and make great power like they Hytech, it's also affordable. Plus I'm a distributor, so
.
Keep in mind, this will completely void your warranty due to the fact that it does not have a CARB EO number for it. As far as my dealership is concerned. You may have different policies at other dealership.

nevermind... just answered my own question... $995... hmmmm
and Del Slo, do you not trust Comptech's own dyno on their site?
http://www.comptechusa.com/ima...r.pdf
if that's accurate... dayum, impressive.

I am really going to try and get some dyno info on my header very soon. It will be off the P1 Mustang Dyno so some number estimation for dynojet stuff will need to be done.
