Default Osaka motors or not?

hi, as of now 'm about to put some money down and buy an engine. I have heard hmotorsonline.com is the best. But i called then and they said they don't ship to canada.
Are there good places in canada you recommend? have heard some bad stories from Osaka motors, but i have also heard some good. I really want a good opinion on this, because i'll be buying in like a week.

if you curious, my choices in engines are limited to either H22a or F20b. It is hard to find the H22a in the 97+ series though, so that is a consideration, i'll buy which ever one is more avalible.

I just ordered my motor from HMO but I almost went to Osaka but decided against it after hearing many bad things. The only way I would ever buy from Osaka is if I went there myself and picked out the engine and had them do a compression test for me on the spot. This is actually what I almost did but I decided companies with their kind of reputation don't deserve my money. So if you can make the trip their and don’t have any moral qualms about giving scumbags money you might be ok.

Never buy from Osaka over the internet, if you do you will be horrified with what they sent you. Do a search PLEASE before you post, this can be a very helpful and Time-saving icon to use.

The only way I would ever order from a shady company like that, is if i were able to go and pick one out. So if you are close to them, just head over there and you can get the motor you want.

Ohh and this also goes for JDMCLUB.com >NEVER buy from Mark from jdmclub

i ahev done a search, and i have seen replies where they actually got some good motors. however i am not ready to take a chance with my motor. i am very worried about what i will get if i ordered it from them. Also when i called them I was speaking to a guy named mark. He one of the guys named, that was responsible for the bad motors. If anybody else has any replies, please go ahead, especially if you have had recent buisiness with them. thanks

I would definently suggest you NOT go with Osaka. I was in your shoes just a couple months ago when I was looking for my H22. Their prices seemed almost "too good to be true" and that right there is the hint. If it seems "to good to be true" 9 times out of 10 it is. The only times anyone has ever got anything good from those guys are when they went to Osaka's place of business themsleves and hand picked what they wanted.

You said you already tried HMO? Well, I would go with IAS (Import Auto Salvage) as a secondary choice. They are a little more pricey, but they ship only quality. Do a search on them if you dont believe me. Also, http://www.jdmpower.net is supposed to be another trustworthy place to do business with and their prices similar to HMO.

I checked out HMO and their prices are reasonable for top quality motors, but they don't ship to canada. that's my biggest problem. I am hesitant about shipping from the states because i have to pay tons in duty, especially on items like motors. There are a few engine importers in canada. but i'm stull doing research on them

OSAKA LICKS LARGE DONKEY NUTS!! i got my motor from there, horrible condition, the motor had a small leak in the headgasket which got larger, the motor came out of an automatic car, alot of the sensors were broken off, the tranny is dead - no reverse, grinds 3rd and 5th, worn out clutch and not to mention my whole distributor is shot, when i got it the igniter and coil were bad and now the bearing in the distributor is squeaking

DON'T BUY FROM OSAKA!!!!!!!!!

I've been researching where to get my engine from in Canada too. I've heard good and bad about osaka as well. All the older stories are bad. Some newer posts on other boards have been saying some good things and that they got better after "changing managment".

So i sent an email to their sales department and asked if in could come and pick out and pick up an engine. And i asked him to comment on all the bad stories about osaka (they even link to these forums from their site).

what he said was incredulous. They DON'T allow customers to pick out their engines and they DON'T allow them to pick them up (they ship only). He also said that that they are the largest and best supplier in NA and are killing the market and all these bad posts about them are from their competitors who are left with no choice.

Does this tard think i am 4 years old
