If your using a plain LED, A 220 or 330 ohm resistor should do you fine. The difference would be how bright you want the LED. Personally, I'd go with the 330 so it doesnt' blind you.

The voltage is like everything else in your car, 12 volts.

Heres a how-to http://www.teamsolwa.com/vteclight.html

go to radio shack and get a $1.27 LED light, and some wire. Hook the positive wire coming out of the LED to the green wire under your VTEC Solenoid, and hook another wire to the negative wire out of the LED to a good ground. Very easy install.

I just picked up a 12 volt lamp from rat shack and threw in some wire. They're really easy to install. Ground one side anywhere, and just solder the other side to the wire coming off the vtec solenoid on the car.

Unless you buy a 12 volt LED, you'll also need a resistor to limit the current or it will blow.

There is a difference between the two LED's.
