Leasing any Honda these days is one of the smartest things you can do. Honda has an excellent equity building lease program, that is especially effective when combined with the S2000 or Odysseys (both these vehicles have book values much higher than the sticker prices). It really isn't a question of "Should I lease," but "What should I lease." There are two types of vehicles that should ALWAYS be leased, Hondas and Volkswagons. With any other vehicle the only option you will have at the end of the lease term will be to turn it in. With a Honda, that will be the last thing that you do. These days, the ACV is usually a lot higher that the residual, so turning it in would be stupid when you can trade it in, or sell it on the street. The most difficult part about Honda leases is qualifing for them. Honda doesn't have a tiered leasing structure, so if you don't pay your bills on time, you're S.O.L. The best S2000 lease is at 36 mo. As far as down payment and term, that all depends on how much you by the car for. A few weeks ago, my dealership sold on for over 46k, but if you're not from the southwest you shouldn't have trouble finding one for a resonable price.

d00d, you were so right!!! i just leased an '01 S2k and the payments were laughable, especially compared to financing (i.e. ~$300 less per month). honda's offering 6.5 % lease rates right now so i got a steal. the 36-mo residual is another joke - ~$21k - i'll make some nice $$ selling it on my own.

anyway, tanx for the advice!

i agree with a lease.. i'm leasing my car.. and i'm totally going to fix it up.. all of them are bolt on parts anyways.. so they can be taken off with ease.. plus they gave me great option to buy after 3 yrs if i ever decide to keep it.. so no worries..

Hey Speedy,
This is Mark with the Black Type R, talked to you at a few Autocorsses this year. Love your new ride man, hey, if you don't mind me asking how much are you paying for the lease? After doing alot of thinking and searching around some S2K websites, and talking to you and a few other local S2K owners I'm seriously considering getting one now.
Let me know.
Thanks.
