HAHA, so my buddy Ben, blackb18c on this board, out of the kindness of his heart, painted my bumpers for me. They turned out incredible, makes me want to paint my whole car. But since I have so many battle wounds, etc, I am debating it...

The bumpers are a litle richers than the rest, but we'll polish out the body this weekend and get the panels to match.

he did an excellent job. His buddy is the guy who paints the H&R cars...so everything from his shop is PERFECT. He wasn't too pleased with the bumpers while I was sitting there with a huge grin on my face(first time I ever liked to look at my car)

 

The gunmetal HX wheels kind of look like ITR wheels at first glance.... but get a . Looks clean.

 

4th picture down it is real obvious. I guess I am just too picky. I would send it back to the shop.

the bumpers are perfect original paint....but my hood, fenders, etc etc are all faded cause my car hasn't been buffed in like 3 years

edit- they were just sprayed last night so the chemicals still haven't fully released.

Can't complain when it cost $00.00

I actually started to like the black bumpers...lol

The past 4 days I've been rollin around with no rear bumper...so now I'm good to go no matter what color they are

hahaha... yea that always sux. My friendwas driving his lude around with no rear bumper and open header for like 2 days when we were getting his exhaust welded.

haha..open header is to griz for me...lol

 

it was god awful loud. that h23 was SCREAMING. Not to mention he had to drive an hour to and from work

I love the sound of open header though...Make the car sound SO much more powerful than it really is...lol

 

yea it kicked for a short ride, but anything a bit too long like 20 min, it was nuts. A guy who rode with him put his work ear plugs in half way to work! lol

It all depends if they used activators in the paint, but here's an example of 4 coats of DuPont base, and then 4 coats of DuPont clear.... total process - 2 hrs & 45 min. They let it cure overnight and then color sanded it and buffed it the next day but still, if you know what you're doing, you don't have to let the paint cure for too long..... just becareful when driving on the highways and getting bugs on your front bumper... clean that off or they'll leave a nice imprint in your paint .




BTW, sorry to "steal" your post, but just showing an example... btw, that paint job was the stock Milano red color... but didn't cost me $00.00 like yours, but pretty close

Yeah, hopefully after I buff the faded paint, it will look close enoughfor me.

Maybe this summer I'll do the whole car, but for now, this will have to do

 

Looks really good. Good improvement on what it used to look like. Everything just takes time and money and money and money and....well some more money.
