After being unable to solve this mystery leak I have from the R and whether it is oil, tranny fluid, brake fluid or something else, I ran into Jamie (Doctor Cortez). I questioned him as to whether or not he has ever seen melting gunmetal paint on an ITR before. He responded no and I showed him where the paint on the outside of the driver's front rim is bubbling up. He told me it was (probably) a leak in the brake line, but overall an easy fix if that is in fact the problem. The pads are brand new (Axxis Ultimates) and the rotors were just resurfaced.
So what kind of Brake lines are out there? What would you recommend?

Marc --> i also noticed on Saturday as well as my g/f that your wheels were peeling. I had never seen that before in my life. Maybe the tanker is leaking brake fluid. How did you fair on Sunday out there?

Mike, the course was a lot better set up on Sunday. I rolled all the Rs and WRXs except for the sponsored one.
They had two STIs out there Sunday, but neither ran, fuggin' show kaaas
That VW still rolled everyone though.
loud, but hellafast.
Back on topic though, any other kinds? how much do they cost and who sells them?

I just installed a set of the Goodridge lines and the car feels fabulous. I was looking into some other "better, higher quality" lines line Endless and others, but when it came right down to it they were extremely expensive and not worth the additional cost. Everybody I spoke with recommended the Goodridge lines.

try techna-fit...they are SS lines w/a coating around the SS so the gunk washes off.
I'm up to about 50,000 miles with mine & no problems...
cost = $100.00

nopi Goodridge lines are 105$, but they do rule. get some Motul 600 to flush with. heard you kids had fun at the CFR AutoX. why dont you dudes roll up to Jax for the event at Whitehouse on the 22nd?
If the paint is bubbled up and melted looking, then it's probably brake fluid. If it's flaking off, then it's well... crappy

Marc rolled mine and steve's R's.... but I was in D Stock, and steve was in STX. Marc's modded tanker makes up for his lack of driving skill.

Lack of driving skill Chris? Clay is a good driver and I still rolled him in co-driving my R by over 2 seconds
yeah but you only got me buy a little under one second
steve who was also pretty hung over that day because he is a light-weight when it comes to beer
