What tranny to use with a ls turbo?

How the heck does your friend hit the end of 5th on a gsr tranny. Thats not even possible in a quarter mile. So your saying your friend is hitting 140mph+ trap speeds?
anyways, please dont listen to these internet myths about LS trannies.
LS tranny is complete ***. Longer gears are fuel economy, lower cruising rpm and top speed runs. Ever wonder why longer gearing is placed in an LS? Because its not meant for "sporty" stuff, and it has a 6800 redline, so it needs the longer gears.
Longer gears no matter what people say will make you accel slower, fall out of boost between shifts more, fall out of your power band and just suck.
Shorter gears is what you want for any racing application. If you dont believe me, listen to the top dogs talk about gearing:

This topic has been beaten to a bloody pulp. All you need to know is in the thread listed above. Sorry if I sound like an ***, but I cant stand hearing people give false info without first hand experience.

GSR. I still cant believe people still believe the myth about needing longer gears for turbo. think about it, the longer the gears, the longer you stay in that gear. Thats bad.

If you read the thread I linked, you will understand. Dont get caught up in the LS bandwagon
Flywheel and tranny are complete different things.

hey , im not tryin to start an argument . . . but what if you do want a higher top speed , the gsr tranny tops out at like what 150 ? . . .not trying to be a dick . . .
what if you want more
what if you want more
I think somebody is NOT getting the point. 5th gear (top speed) will never be seen in Auto X, 1/8 mile or 1/4 mile sprints. If someone is trying to build a boosted topspeed Honda the FWD platform is an oddball choice. If someone is that worried about topspeed just add the LS "gas saver" 5th gear to whatever gear set you choose.
At one point I thought longer gearing was better but I got a rude slap in the face when I was forced to use my backup Y21 EG6 tranny after destroying 3rd, 5th and reverse gears in my GSR tranny. Next month I will be running a 4.785 FD with my Y21 and I will move on to the OS Giken gearset below when I install the 9500rpm capable 84.5m bore motor.
1st 2.500
2nd 1.800
3rd 1.250
4th 0.957
5th 0.733
FD 4.785 (or 4.929)

Longer gears are better becouse you stay on the boost longer with tall gears. With short gearing when you shift the boost drops and thats when you lose with short gears. I may be new here but i have 10 years experience with turbos and all kinds of gearing.
ITA Integra LS
LS tranny with 4.78 final

ok, so i said , what if you DO want a higher top speed , i max out my car alot , and i know if i had a turbo with my gsr , i would max out that tranny all together , so the ls tranny would let me have a higer top speed , not talkin about 1/4 or auto X dammit , im talkin about going as fast as i can . . .
