Default hks exhaust

I had this exhaust on for about 2 weeks now. And I noticed that soon as I bolted it up it seems as though it sticks out about 3.5-4.0 inches to far. I also put on a high flow random technology cat with the exhaust. Any suggestion why it sticks out so far. I really would like to correct this some way , looks like a rice burner. http://www.we-todd-did-racing....DE%3D [IMG][/IMG]

mine sticks out a bit, i think thats how its supposed to look. i think its so the exhaust doesnt sit under the rear bumper too much so the hot fumes dont mess up your rear bumper.

I've seen a HKS sport on a crx before and it didn't stick out that much...something in your exhaust is too long, it should tuck up quite nicely from the pics I've seen....

HKS exhaust on Civic HBs stick out because they are designed for the Japanese EF rear bumper that sticks out more. Same problem with Mugen and other JDM exhaust. Not the same problem with CR-Xs because EF and ED bumpers on CRXs are same. Well, that's my theory. Check the pics on this thread...https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=302222. It's not really noticeable.

I was wondering if it had to do with the JDM bumpers having something to do with it. Well I guess I will have to live with it. I got my exhaust $438.?? just my signature thats where I got it from. I measured up the cats as well when I took them both off and they were the same size, so I know that isn't the problem. Its probably just the bumpers. Thanks for all the info fellows.

Mine looks the same as yours. I didn't know that about the JDM bumpers though. Learned something new today.

I have the GReddy SP and mine sticks on a little. I think it makes it look nice. I guess you could always take it to your local shop and have them shorten the pipes.

Oh ok now that I see a few more people with their exhaust sticking out like that it makes me feel a little better. I"m not going to touch the exhaust. I don't want someone rigging up some ghetto pipe to make it shorter. I will just leave it alone.
