I just got a 96 gsr and there is a rattling noise at 3,200 rpm. It is always there no matter what gear, i was wondering could it be the cracked header problem? If it is would anyone suggest that i purchase a jdm DC 4-1 ceramic header for 320$ shipped? Is this a good deal? I also wanted to know everyones take on what kind of intake i should get I was thinking Iceman.. since it can be switched from short ram to cold air so i can be safe on those rainy days

 

a lot of gsrs ahve that rattling problem, something to do w/the heatsink...if youre planing on getting 4-1 i'd get the SS. as far as intake goes, most are the same, if your worried about the rain and such go with the comptech one. It's really hard to hydrolock unless youre in 3 feet of rain or so (and flooring it)

That's what I was thinking. Isn't a heatsink for amps and cpu's....

btw, why are you double posting this issue in this forum?

 

it's heatshield not heatsink ...and the way to fix it is rip the sucker off.

 

For some reason the headers on the gsr have a problem with cracking. 1st remove all your heatshields (ie header & cat.). If you still hear it then take it back to wherever you bought it, it might still be under warranty.
