Default My DIY ram air for my J's racing carbon fiber weiner!! Let me know what you guys think.

I was bored today so I decided to do this. Materials used were flat ABS plastic, 3" ABS piping, and a JL Audio 3" flex port. Little cutting and filing here and there. I'm pretty happy with how it came out.

Where did you get your parts? I have been looking for stuff like that to do the same thing for the longest time! If you could let me know where you picked up your parts from, I would greatly appreciate it

Car audio shops that carry JL audio will have the ports and ABS plastic. 3" ABS pipe is from and hardware store.

First what I did was cut out a template of the vent there. Then I used the template to cut out a ABS piece. Then I got the 3" tubing, glued it into the position I wanted then cut out the hole and filed it smooth. All in all took me about 1.5 hours.

Thanks for all of the replies. I just came back from a spirited drive and all I can say is wow. Big difference. No you REALLY feel the throttle response and it actually feels stronger than my old AEM CAI on my butt dyno I remember a post I saw of BOB-DC2 and his set up do I decided to try it and I'm damn glad I did.

I'm still working on it but I am unsure of what material to use. Can I get opinions from everyone? Plexiglas or sheet metal.

For the heat shield, use aluminum, hands down.

You can get sheets of it at homedepot.
