Hybrid owners! Those of you who used a different engine harness into a 92-95 VX click here please
I'm having issues with starting the H22 into a 92 VX. I'm using my previous EX harness on the H22 (which was on previously on and ran flawless inside my EX coupe).
I transferred the H22 with the adapted EX harness inside the 92 VX, mated the EX harness to the VX main shock tower harness, and the main relay does not turn on...
I was talking to eg_nezay as well as some others and they had the same issue with the main relay not turning on (thus not having spark nor the fuel pump turning on), but would crank over.
Anybody else use a DIFFERENT harness other than the VX harness and mate it to a 92-95 Civic VX and have these issues?
I'm thinking there is a missing ground or an open circuit due to the VX main shock tower harness being different from the EX (with factory EGR wiring and such) and making it so the car will not start.
Any input would be much appreciated!
TIA.

lol, i know! thanks for the help bro
very much appreciated...
all other VX owners!! if you have swapped a motor into your car and did not use the VX engine harness (mating with the VX main harness (at the shock tower)),
did you have to modify anything??

i had a freind with the exact opposite situation, usinga vx motor in his dx hatchback.the wiring is different for sure.i would suggest getting a digital voltemeter,a book on the vx and a book on the ex,then matching up the wires and using your voltmeter to check for continuity between the ecu and the wiring harness up in the engine bay.

Talk to GReddy Si. He put a B16 in his VX and swapped the harness at the shock tower.
First of all, Poison I hope you get the car running as soon as possible.
Not sure if that is going to help you but here is some text from a swap guide of a b18c1 into a VX :

Once I got that done I began the wiring. Kenji and I had discussed which wires I needed to move. He was very patient and put up with my repeated emails asking for help. Kenji is da man!
So I needed to move two wires. I needed to move one at the ECU plug and one the engine harness where it plugs into the car. The ECU relocation was for the IAB valve and the engine harness was the knock sensor. It took me quite a while to move the A20 pin to A17 because I didn't realize how the ECU socket was built. I tried for about an hour to push the pin out, then I realized that the back of the harness hinges out. Once I did this it took two minutes to move the pin. I also attempted to move the engine harness wire to hook up the knock sensor. However I couldn't find the wire that Kenji had referred me to. He instructed me to fin the red/blue wire on the engine harness and connect it to the blue/yellow wire on the car harness. Well I couldn't find a red/blue wire, but I found a blue/red wire. I though maybe he got it backwards, or maybe my engine was backwards, so I connected the blue/red wire to the blue/yellow wire on the car.
I had to swap the wire at the ECU before I could start the motor. This was the A20 to A17 swap for the IAB wire. This took about an hour of struggling Wednesday night. However upon looking at the socket again I was able to see the hinge on the rear. Once I saw that the wire relocation took only seconds.

Thanks a lot guys for the input.
dwnthehatch - do you know what harness he switched over, I'll shoot him an IM/email. thanks.
2B 4GO10, thanks :D That's pertaining to getting IAB's to work though. But I'm also gonna try and see what Kenji knows about this whole ordeal. appreciate it
Any of you VX owners have any info? I'm desperate for this car to work lol.

C'mon guys, someones gotta know what to do here! Wish I could help you out more Brandon, but since I can't I'll at least bump it to the top for ya!
we did this once.
put a b16 into a 92 vx and used a 92 ex harness. plug up and ran, had no problems at all.

ok. thanks for the clear up. from what i'm looking at now (talking to a friend) and verifying in helms to make sure grounds are good.
Finally got the thing running!@ and I KNEW it would be something simple. Turned out to be the damn ASC fuse that I overlooked. We tried jumping wires at the main relay to test to make sure our wiring was good, and ended up blowing the ASC fuse, and for some reason forgot to replace it
Thanks to EVERYONE who has helped.
