Default Skunk 2 Intake Manifold VS JG Edelbrock

Wassup guys. I'm definitely going to go with one of these manifolds for my next mod. I would like to know if anyone has dyno'd or has first hand experience with any of these parts. Turbo magazine picked up 8whp and a spike of 12whp with the JG Edelbrock manifold on a na TypeR but it did have cams and p/p. So I'm leaning towards JG. Any info would be appreciated! Thanks!

So i take it you have a GSR because neither of these are useful to an ITR motor.

if you have an ITR, stick with the stock manifold.

Read my sig I do have an ITR. However, I've never heard of not being able to improve on the stock ITR intake manifold. But thanks anyways.

Honestly, the IM should be the last thing touched on a Type-R. Other than port matching, there is not really any need for anything else.

BTW The Skunk2 is an exact copy of the ITR manifold.

Damn that puts a hamper on my plans I might have to go cams after all sooner than I thought. Thanks!

confirm it? go pop your hood, look at your IM, then go to skunk2's website and look at their IM. they are the same, i think i heard someone say the skunk2 might be a tiny bit lighter but im sure not enough to justify the price tag. if you feel you must do somthing to "improve" your R IM maybe just have someone do some p&p on it and port matching or somthing....

This is what I might end up doing before I go into a full valvetrain kit.

I believe the only difference is it has slightly shorter runners. I think I heard somewhere that its slightly lighter too. I know for a fact that the JG manifold is a hell of a lot lighter than the stock manifold...so weight reduction ****** might take that into consideration.
