Attention HID owners! Couple Questions
1: Did you all adjust your healight housings after installation?
And if you have adjusted, how? Did you use the "level" on the
housing or did you do it on a wall or how?
2: Does anybody have people flashing you becuase they think
you have your brights on? I get this all night... this is what made
me think that I have to adjust them down or something.
3: Also has anybody seen their own car coming down the road
from a distance? Do you know if they flicker colors similar to the S2ks?
My friend is buying an S2k and whenever he see one or sees the
headlight (distinctive) he slows down to see it. When caught up with
him on the way home he though I was an S2k with my kit? He
said that they were extremly color ful.
BTW I have trevors 4300k phillips kit. (Thanks Sam!) Entire post regarding the sale and install process.

Have same kit, never adjusted, been flickered once and i drive a lot at night. never actually seen my car coming down the road cause that would mean someone else was driving it, but they so change color somewhat. BUt not as dramatic as cars with stock HID's because of the projector lens optic differences.

Re: (Rguy)
I adjusted mine, made a HUGE difference. I used my garage door as a guide adjust, then used a fence about 25 feet away when I parked on my street to make sure they were not too high. To me, it looks like I have my hi beams on, but never get any one complaining on the road.
I don't know what they look like, but i doubt they flicker like OEM HID's do.
The adjusting screws make it so easy to adjust....

Re: Attention HID owners! Couple Questions (TypeR 01 886)
1. yes
2. adjust them (I've never been flashed by oncoming traffic so far)
3. no
4. mine flicker where the light hits those retarded lines on the housing, I wish it didn't and I wish OEM setups didn't (they flicker for a different reason though)

Re: Attention HID owners! Couple Questions (dawhiteboy)
adjust them when you finish installing, you should aim them lower, and no you will not get the s2k color changing affect with a 4300K kit on a non HID housing.

Other than that, you should be ok, because if you are putting it in then yes you need adjustment but if its just a whold ballast like ITR then you're all good.

what in the hell are you talking about?
edit: and if people are flashing you they are aimed too high most likely, which makes the output less effective (assuming you want to see the road ahead of you not the sky) so "they can deal with it" is about the most ignorant response I've ever read.

1.) Yes, I adjusted mine in my garage. There's a section in the Helms that tells you how to do it. Basically, the car has to be ~10ft from the wall and you obviously have to be on level ground. Then you go to the wall and measure from the ground up to the cutoff and make sure it's within spec. I found it easier to turn the adjuster with a rachet/socket instead of using a screwdriver.

2.) I haven't had anybody flash me yet. Sometimes I feel like it's aimed too high since the road signs seems so illuminated but I guess those are the perks of HIDs.

3.) There is slight, and I mean SLIGHT, flicker but it's nothing like the S2K. There's no color change at all but you can tell with the slight flicker that they're authentic HIDs.

Re: Attention HID owners! Couple Questions (CPR)
is this JDM OEM HID or like aftermarket ones in a USDM or non HID JDM housing. If it's anything other then the OEM HID I don't think it will flicker. I think the lines that run though our lens (the OEM HID does not have the lines) prevent a try HID projection though it is a lot brighter

in USDM lights those lines will cause glare which produces the same color change effect that flicker has.

Bingo. "they can deal with it" is indeed the most ignorant response i've seen ever in my whole damned life. more retarded than what a dumb blonde would say.

Let me restate this for you Soup ****.
What is the main thing that creates the different hues WHEN it (HID) is at cutoff.
Is it the housing (bimmer housing, s2k, jags, audis, bentley, etc..) that makes the different color flickers on OEM HIDs, or is it a combination of the output light (kelvins 4.3k, 5, 6,8,9) and ballast that make it flicker differently?
