I personally love Carbon Fiber, but this is pushing it. He tore that thing apart, but at least most parts could still be put on. He said he might sell the full Carbon conversion after they get everything produced.

Carbon fiber is a great way to reduce weight and look good. But this might have been too much.

Maybe he should've gone wit with a carbon fiber lip and hood! Maybe some carbon fiber mirrors?

Dont' think he will save much weight. I am guessing 30 pounds max. Most of the weight is not in the aluminuim panels. They weigh next to nothing already

wow.. thats frickin sweet!!!

a. This will void no warranty on the car.. atleast not mechanical.. are you trying to say that when the guages in the car stop working they will say they won't fix it because of the CF front end? I think not. I refuse to touch my car mechanically for a long long time.. I have a 7 year warranty.. and atleast until I have the money to fix the engine if I need to do so.. I'm not touching it.. however I have some other plans in the works aside from engine work..

b. You guys need to look on ebay for a full carbon fiber body.. for any car.. any work would be custom and would cost 10s of thousands of dollars.. I've seen a full carbon fiber exterior for a porsche go for ~$110,000.. just the exterior pieces.. When this guy is done.. he will have the molds to produce more.. which is worth quite a large amount of money...

c. as for the weight.. yeah he probably isnt saving much.. he is doing what he can to shave off as much weight is possible though.. and it looks like he is doing the work himself.. so hes not paying out the *** for it.. which is ..

That car is gonna look very good imo. I doubt his warrenty would be voided, its not like he did anythign to his engine like FI.

yea.. its not going to void any type of warranty... whoever said that it would, doesnt know what they're talking about... a warranty is only voided when a specific part is replaced by an aftermarket part... i.e. intake, cams, new head, shocks, etc.... a new body wont void anything other than the electronics of the rear view mirror....

</TD></TR></TABLE>

the way you worded your reply seems very familiar...methinks your stay on honda-tech will be short lived.

He's replacing the hood, bumper, and fenders. Even IF that would void any warranty in Honda's eyes (which I doubt), the old panels could just be bolted back up, its all bolt on stuff (until he does the rear 1/4 panels of course). So the debate is pointless

i dunno how i feel about that one.. it's a great accomplishment if everything fit well and stuff, but it looks like the car is waiting to be painted or something.

Its an interesting idea, but my concern is structural integrity. Is carbon fiber strong enough to hold up in an accident? Does anyone know? I would worry that it could make for some pricey fender benders.

I dont know why he wouldnt fo the doors. Its easy to split them and do just the skin. Just a little more difficult to mold an entire door. It would be sweet to do teh ENTIRE car.

Nice pics and car!

I like the concept of the carbon fiber but this much takes a little getting used to!

first off, i never taught of doing this project when i got the car, the car is new because i didnt want to modify it... well there is goes again...

never taught i would meet a crazy **** like mike at eastend to turn the car CF. As for the white part i am happy it s white, there is a getting used to, but i dont want to hide the fact that it is CF in the front, if the car would be black, i would fell like i m hidding it.

when the thrunk will be done, the car will blend better because of the black front, roof and thrunk, and i m going to have a vinyle graphique jobe done to blend the fenders to the door panels all the way to the thrunk. oh ya i have the muz CF mirroirs on the way also.

Like i said, this is growng project and it is hard to express my ideas what is going in my head, but i know where i m going with this.

now as we speak the car is at SNOBCAR and they are putting a hugh mutimedia system inside.
so dont worry i have something for all of you at jarry... and lot s more to come.

Remember sometimes being different needs some getting used to... remember yellowbimmer in its early stage.

the first goal of CF project is not beauty, but more the advantages that cf will bring you.

I saved about 40lbs.

i am working right now on the gb with my bodyshop.
