Silicone.

Mugen & Spoon do this to their ECU because racing (not drag) is pretty rough on the chassis, and consequently on the Computer circuitry as well. Silicone helps to keep everything intact / less vibrations.

 

so it will plug into an OBD 2 harness?

Yes, OBDII gen1 / OBDII version A. However you want to call it.

i went over to look at it, and upon looking at the pretty ecu, my pants dropped and i had no choice to spooge all over the ecu. it will still work though. lol j/k

also prevents other companies from reverse engineering the ECU....
