ES Oval or Magnaflow muffler?!
im thinking of either buying one of the two casue i need a quieter muffler, if you have either one or heard about them how did you like them? loud? quiet? hp gain? any info would help!
i cannot speak for the es oval ive never heard them.. but i do have a magnaflow oval on my del sol.. 2 1/4 in piping.. at idle.. its non existant.. and its got a nice deep growl.. never heard this muffle "wet fart" yet even at WOT at high speeds.. its funny because it looks stock as hell.. and people pay no mind to it.. until i start moving and it starts makin a really deep tone.. and alot of people will look over tryin to figure it out... i dont really get it though.. i mean ok yea it looks stock but dont the 2 1/4 outlet on it sorta give it away?? i didnt get the stainless steel bling bling one either.. its a basic dull finished muffler..

you can get them at most any local muffler shop--midas, meineke, etc. and yes, they come in 2.5" inlet/oulet. http://www.magnaflow.com

ES OVAL ownz, STRAIGHT Thru design, mangaflow reminds me of Borla, my preference is dont really like brands that deal with alot of domestics, even tho that has nothing to do with your question, and ES oval looks just as stock as the mangaflow, maybe shinnier

You know that they're just mufflers, right? a muffler from a "domestic" company will work just as well as one from an "import" company. And I think the shinier it is, the faster the exhaust gas velocity. yeah. . . .
I still say get a magnaflow. My local Midas sells the straight-through T304s for $100. they'll probably even sell it without requesting it needs to be installed at the shop.

ES Oval is the sheit. It's so nice and deep. The sound will never get raspy. I have it on my GSR with ITR B pip and custom axle back piping. I heard it on a 95 civic coupe and it was nice too. with all that said, I highly reconmend Es Oval

My cousin had a 2.5" cat-back on his car with a magnaflow and it was loud as ****
. I've heard sound clips and video of cars with the ES Ovals and they sound great
. Most Magnaflows on imports that I've had experience with are loud, farty obnoxious things. Maybe I'm not seeing or hearing ones that are set-up right? Until then what the hell is Mario Andretti thinking?! LOL JK

Those are what I heard the ES on and they sounded good!? I guess I'm seeing totally different set-ups on totally different cars.
I'd like to see a comparsion on the same car with the same set-up.

I heard the ES Ovals were just rebadged magnaflow mufflers. And for the guys who said the magnaflows sounded bad remember there are a number of different models available. Some magnaflow mufflers are straight through, some are chambered, some are cannister style, and some are obviously of the oval variety.
