Default TRADE / BUY my 1992 Civic CX Hybrid (less than 15k miles)

I have started a new thread entitled "TRADE or BUY my 1992 Civic CX hybrid w/ low miles (updated info/pics)"....should be easier to read and has all pics on the main page.

This is a modified post w/ more information

I bought the car off of a H-T.com member, "Mike K" last June off of the boards. He worked at Acura in Naples, FL and had done a lot of great mods. You will see that he purchased a lot of parts new from Acura, which is one reason this car is so nice, cause it is almost new (great mileage). I have also done some things to the car, suspension work and weight reduction mainly to make it even faster (check out the weight savings list a few posts down…great, rare info to have for future reference). Anyway, check out all of the information...

Just got back from DMV, and they told me that since I paid the registration already (last June) that whoever buys the car (and is in CA) will have the money go towards their registration ($284 worth)!

Smog Information:
First and foremost, this car will NOT pass CA smog. I have talked with DMV and the Bureau of Auto Repair and the only option is to:
Continue to get 2 month extentions on registrations (as good as your excuses are)
Fix the existing issues (I will provide my smog document from the CA referee)
Have a "hook-up" that can get you the smog certificate
Swap a stock motor into the car, smog it, then swap the SI/ITR motor back in

Now, if you can do this great. OR if you are out of state, you are probably ok too. So please take this into consideration first.

Reason for Selling:
I don't want to deal with smog (call me lazy). Don't/Won't have the time to invest at the trac or upgrade like I had hoped. Have received 2 speeding tickets since I have had this car (after my record finally cleared up), and don't want the temptation to beat down every car on the road (thus, receiving more).

Selling/Trading Information:
I will sell the car (everything on the list) for $9,200 OBO
I will sell the car (without the Zeal s6's and camber kits = $2,100 new) for $8,000 OBO
· I might even sell without the CF hood, lightweight battery, or wheels for a further savings. E-mail me if this is of interest to you.
I will trade the car, with cash for almost any model (though, if the car sucks, it better be a majority cash)
I will trade the car straight accross OR my car and my money (up to $2,000) for your car...
· cars I would be interesed in are the following:
· 1994+ Acura Integra
· 1992+ Honda Prelude (prefer 1997+)
· 1992+ Honda Civic (not 7th gen)
· Other nice cars that are not Honda/Acura

Now, the car…here you go…

1992 Honda Civic CX hatchback
· Red exterior, black interior
· Built DOHC VTEC motor swap, set up according to Motorola Cup/Speedvision specifications by professional outfit (AutoSport South of Boca Raton, FL)
· Approximately 130,000 miles on chassis, clean title, never been hit
ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS:
TOP END:
· 2001 Integra Type R cylinder head(purchased from Acura in Spring 2002) which has ~6000 miles
· Cylinder head disassembled and inspected, combustion chambers refinished within Motorola Cup specifications(42.8cc volume per chamber), 5 angle valve job, blended radius seats, all valvetrain balanced within 1/10th of a gram, reassembled with all original ITR parts. All work on head done by Louis Milone @ AutoSport South in Boca Raton, FL.
· 2001 ITR camshafts (3 more degrees duration than 1998 counterpart on intake and same as JDM CTR)
· AEM cam gears
· Modified OEM one layer headgasket w/copper moly sealant
· 1-year old OEM head bolts
· 2000 Civic Si intake manifold
· 1-year old gaskets and seals (OEM KIT # 06110-P73-A03)
BOTTOM END:
· 2000 Civic Si shortblock(less than 10,000 miles on it when installed…which equals about 15,000 miles now)
· Integra Type R crank pulley
· 1-year old Integra Type R alternator and belt
· Bottom end is in tip-top shape and gets consistent 230psi per cylinder in compression test(average B18C5 gets 220-230psi), burns NO OIL!
FUEL SYSTEM/ELECTRICAL:
· 2001 Integra Type R fuel pump
· B&M adjustable fuel pressure regulator
· STR Eliminator Fuel Rail (anodized black)
· 1998 Integra Type R engine wiring harness with OBD-1 injectors clips soldered onto harness (ready for RC or Accel Injectors, no modification necessary)
· 1995 Integra GSR injectors balanced by RC Engineering in March 2002(flowchart all within 5cc, average flow 247cc)
· Fuel rail tapped with AN fitting and stainless line to AutoMeter fuel pressure gauge under hood
· Skunk2 chipped P28 ECU
· MSD Digital-6 ignition with 2 step launch rev limiter and push-button switch
· Adjustable timing retard toggle switch (mounted on dash, + for 20 degrees ignition timing, and - for 5 degrees retard)
· MSD Blaster 3 coil
· MSD distributor cap
· 1-year old distributor rotor and distributor housing assembly
TRANSMISSION:
· Integra Type R transmission (purchased NEW from Acura 2/12/02)
· Fidanza 8lb. aluminum flywheel
· Integra Type R clutch (~10,000 miles on it)
BOLT-ONS / CHASSIS:
· Iceman custom intake (64mm inlet tapered)
· USDM Integra Type R header ported by AutoSport South
· Carsound Catalytic Converter (also have 2.25" resonated test pipe)
· Integra Type R O2 sensor
· A'PEXi N1 catback exhaust (also have silencer)
· Energy Suspension motor mount inserts
· Denso PK20PRL11 platinum plugs
· Z10 Engineering traction bars
· Zeal S6 aluminum suspension (12k front, 8K rear spring rates)
· Also have…Integra Type R front shocks, GSR rear shocks, custom Eibach ITR race springs (The springs are Motorola Cup spec models for Integra Type R. AutoSport South used to run 2 Integra Type R's in '97 for that circuit. They are same as stock ITR ride height, but extremely stiff with different progressive rates. You can't buy these anywhere.)
· EBC Green front brake pads
· PowerSlot slotted brake rotors
· Energy Suspension shifter bushings
· JDM Vision corner lamps
· Spoon Replica driver side mirror (have passenger mirror as well)
· OEM plastic passenger side mirror replacement (just a flush piece)
· Red Mugen shift ****
· 95 Civic EX gauge cluster with amber lighting
· Pioneer CD deck
· 6" Sony XPlod front speakers
· Mugen upper strut hat bushings front and rear
· Type-1 lightweight battery (~13.5 lbs)
· Fiber Images Carbon Fiber Hood w/ hood pins (not connected to chassis however)
· Mazda Miata OEM 14”x6.0” rims (~10.5 lbs each…these are lighter, wider and more unique than the Civic HX rims) (FYI: they had to be bored out in the center to fit the Civic hubs, yet another reason you will not seem them very often (if ever))
· 195/55/14 Dunlop SP Sport 8000 tires up front (80% tread)
· 185/60/14 Kumho Ecsta HP4 716 tires in back (brand new)
· Skunk 2 front camber kit
· SSR rear camber kit
· Integra Type-R rear lower control arms (LCA’s)
· Integra Type-R rear sway bar w/Beaks kit (not installed)
· Sparco Ultra black bucket seats (~12.5 lbs each, some of the lightest for not being CF)
· Sparco aluminum seat mounts (these are bolted to the frame)
· Tekniq Autosport removable steering wheel (great for theft!)
· 1-year old black carpet out of an EX (insulation has been removed)
NOTES:
· Windshield is aftermarket, not OEM Honda. Again, this is how I purchased the vehicle. There are no cracks in it, and it does not leak.
· There is an aftermarket sunroof (it has been sealed and I do not open it…it does not leak, it looks OEM, does not add too much weight since it does not have the motor)
· There is no rear interior, headliner or driver door speaker cover
· The A-pillar, passenger door panel, and rear pillar/side moldings will be included (they are all fine, have the screws, etc…I just took them out for the hell of it)
· It includes the glove-box, but it is not installed and needs a part before doing so
· I have tore out the A/C, wiper fluid resivour, carpet insulation, and misc needless items) (see the weight savings document to see what I did with weights)

TIMES:
· Dynojet chassis tested at 168.8hp@8200rpm, 114.1tq@6600rpm
· Engine dyno tested at 197.2 flywheel hp@8175rpm, 133.7 flywheel tq@6650rpm (almost exactly 15% loss @ the wheels, which is extremely accurate) (will provide print-out)

I have not run it at the track personally, here is what the previous owner, Mike K, said “Not sure about 1/4 miles, but it runs consistent 9.1's in the 1/8th mile, with my best being a 9.02@80.1mph. I got a 2.20 60ft that run.” “So it's a low low 14 second car, high 13s with a better, and lighter driver. (I am 230lbs, so the hatch is back to stock wieght with me in it, LOL)”

So…the car weighed 2194lbs at that point…it now weighs 2020lbs. (see other post) Plus, take the difference of your weight and his (230lbs) and you have a decent depiction of what it may run. My guess would be mid-13’s depending on driver and weight.

E-mail me at Nylander@sbcglobal.net with ANY questions or offers (of if you want my phone number to talk instead). Thank you very much for your time, and sorry for the long post (though I had no choice!).

If you want specific pics, e-mail me. Sorry the car is dirty, but it rains too much to wash it!

note: hood needs to be re-adjusted. Also, the bars connecting the hood pins and the frame are not on (which would snug it as well).

Look at the beautiful "6" in the window...lol. And that mammoth Apexi N1 exhaust!

HX rims wish they were as light, wide and unique as these! Also, look at the lack of a passenger mirror...uniqueness everywhere!

there is some confusion as to what I actually added in the 10 months I owned the car, all to add $4500. I added the following, all new unless otherwise stated:

Zeal S6 alu. suspension = $1800
F.I. CF hood = $400 (bought used)
Miata Rims/tires = $550 (bought used)
F/R Camber = $300
Sparco's + alu. mounts = $750
Type-1 Battery = $150
ITR rear sway + Beaks = $150 (sway was used)
ITR LCAs = $50 (bought used)
Carsound Cat = $150
Spoon Rep. mirrors = $150
Removable steering wheel = $250

trades???

you know you want speed, and handling in one package...so where's the offers?

200hp all motor, yet only a 1.6L in an EH!! Just like a stock SI block, only faster...also, allowing you can handle due to its smaller size/weight (not to mention the reduced weight and Zeal s6's....or maybe the ITR sway anyone?)

I'll step out on a limb and give this a try.... I have a 92 Prelude S, AEM CAI, neuspeed springs, forbidden true short shifter, spoon front and rear STB's, fiber images carbon hood, fiberglass Z3 fenders, JDM 1-piece blk housing headlights, shaved emblems/anttena, brand new electron blue paint, no dings/dents, or anything, perfect inside and out, kinda slow, runs high 15's on a good day, 160k miles but runs perfect, up-to-date maintance, blah blah, if you are interested in a trade + whatever amount of cash you want let me know.

That is a pic from fairly recently but it is without the springs on, also those wheels are painted gunmetal now, looks MUCH better. I dont know what type of wheels they are, but they are 14x6 and VERY light weight, tires kinda suck though, pretty tall profile as you can see... And it is electron blue pearl as you can see... There are other mods that I will think of if I go through my reciepts, like kyokugen black lugnuts and a bunch of little stuff like that... Let me know if you want more info... Thanks

Oh yeah that pic doesnt have the front lip on...its just the stock lip but it makes the car look a lot better. Also that pic only works when my friends computer is on since it is hosted there...

EDIT: the front bumber also wasnt bolted on all the way in that pic, it lines up perfect and is currently in place... I will keep thinking of little stuff like this...
