2002 RSX test drive in the new Acura "Style" magazine.
Did anybody else get this magazine today?
It has a 2 page ad for "The all-new 200-hp Acura RSX Type-S"
Plus a 6 page article testing the car! Peter Cunningham is the driver.
The test was at Willow Springs International Raceway.
Quotes (from Cunningham):
"The car communicates well. I knew exactly what it was going to do"
"In a word," he began, "I'd say it was 'smooth.'"
"The first thing I noticed is that the ride isn't reminiscent of the Integra Type R. That car is very much a race car in street trim, but driving that car to work everyday is a bit much because it's pretty much built for the race track. For me, the RSX Type-S is a car you can be comfortable in driving down the road, yet on track it was smooth and did everything you would want it to do. The engineers achieved all that without a stiff ride that beas you up on the road."
Cunningham also described the RSX handling as "very predictable" and "with an unbelievable amount of grip."
"This engine has more power than most people will ever need."
My scanner is giving me a fit. I will try to get it fixed and post up the article soon.

a friend who works for Acura already drove the RSX type S a month ago or so. He said it was awesome!!!!!!! He wouldn't shut up about it. He said the handeling and performance is crazy. The only down side he felt was that it was front wheel drive still. He ended up out performing some Indy driver that was demo the car to the acura people. My friend drives a 97 R, new S2000, CBR, and a IS300 so he knows how cars should feel. I will be taking the RSX out for a test drive this weekend when it arrives for the unvailing on the 2nd. All I know is that he loves that car. He said the R version will probally not come here. If it does it will be in the next few years. Also he doubts that they will call it a type R since here in the US its called the RSX not the integra. he thinks it will be called something like a RSX type X or something lame like that. Anyway, I'll take some pictures and maybe even get a video of me driving the car and testing that baby out.
This is the "AD" for the RSX.
