Expo thoughts: From your friendly grid worker
Well, needless to say I am dead tired . For those that don't know who I was, I was the guy in the green jacket directing you from the grid to pit road, helping to find your instructors, helping to direct you off of pit road after your sessions, and all around nice guy . I think I can safely say I am one of the few that talked to every driver there .
I'll just rattle off some thoughts here as they pop into my head:
- thanks to Trey, George and Dave, hell of an event, and all the other people that helped.
- thanks to all of the instructors, you guys worked your butts off, and I really appreciate those that jumped in with students that weren't their own so the students could get sufficient track time
- thanks to the drivers for behaving yourselves on track, you guys did a great job
- thanks to the drivers for being highly cooperative as well, especially with the directions for dropping your instructors off after the sessions
- thanks to the drivers and instructors for their patience and understanding with me on the grid, I appreciate that
- thanks to those that came down and kept me company on the grid, you have no idea how much I appreciated that
- thanks George for relieving me of duty at the end on Sunday so I could head home
- oh yeah, it was great putting a lot of faces with screen names, everyone I met was extremely nice (and I know those I didn't meet are very nice too ) and I look forward to seeing you guys again in the future
- big props to my fellow 3rd Year Expo Attendees, hope to see you guys at next years Expo!
Only regrets are that I didn't get to hang out much friends at the track (both new friends and old friends). But that kind of gets made up with the fact that everyone had a pleasureable and safe experience this past weekend and I know I will see most of you guys again either at VIR, Summit Point, burning down Charlotte, etc.
One last note, Roddey (sp?), who was working control for Beaver Run, was extremely complimentary of everyone, both on track and off. He said it was a pleasure working with us and would love to have us back as a group anytime.
Thanks again from me, and now I am going to pass out at my desk hear at work

Only because Jon was speaking so highly of your driving skills. I wasn't going to let your ego grow too much before heading out on track

Thanks Brian. You didn't get as much recognition as deserved. Instructors at least got some breaks after signing off students, but you were out there working all day.

Kick *** job Brian.
It was good meeting you.
Too bad we didn't run into you to hook you up with some more of your good friend Mr. Grey Goose.

big talk from someone who didn't even show up.
you were just afraid you'd get rolled by your old R.
