Is a five Lug conversion worth it with R rims....and for how much should it be?
i can get 2 CW Rims and 2 GM Rims from an integ type-r installed with the five lug conversion for $2000???
is it worth it, hopw much should it be for?
also, would this even look cool???

SLOWLY put down the crack, unhand that prostitute, and walk OUT of the crackhouse. Carefully, regain reson, and get the same colored rims
hell no, I can get a set of 17" with tires for $1000. And I can use the other thousand for like other things like a sound system or peformance parts such as a intake, headers, springs, koni shocks..........there is a better way of spending $2000 then just to make your car have a extra lug.....
2K sounds like a good deal for parts and installation included. i'd go for it. the CW and gunmetals should work for now. just get new wheels when u get the extra cash.

its not just having "1 more lug" its a better breaking system too right?[/QUOTE]
hey,
having one more lug bold does not mean anything in performance or in the braking system, all it means is add on weight and somewhat better on looks. if i was you, i would rather spend that money on something for the engine, l ike maybe cams, headders, crap like that. why would you want to spend that much money for one more lug bolt per corner??? i think that is a stupid investment in the world.

if its just added wait then why would anycar have them??? its gotta have some kind of purpose... is it stronger somehow??? why does the itr have them and reg integras dont???
um, its not just one extra bolt. your definetly gettting better braking performance from a type-r(if the conversion is from a type-r). itr's have bigger and better braking components compared to gs-r's.
$2000 would be the approximate cost of modifying the stock suspension in terms of the difference between an ITR suspension compared to Non ITR's.
The former has; stiffer prings/dampers, bigger brakes, better tires than the latter.
So it all depends on whether the ITR springs/dampers and re010 tires (in good condition) are included in the package. Without both, it'll probably be wiser to buy aftermarket parts rather than doing the 5 lug conversion. Coilovers ($1000), Tires ($500) and Fastbrakes brake upgrade ($500)= better end result than a 5 lug conversion for about the same price
Installation isn't hard, you just need the time and the tools...cake.

2000 isnt that much farther from a turbo kit!! much more respect from performance, than someone seeing you with rims...
Well, to answer your questions..
1) No, it's not worth it.
2) $2000 would be a really good price, IF you had 4 of the same wheels..
3) Heed the advice of GSRwBOOST

Are you planning on racing the car on a road track? If so, it may be a good upgrade. If you just want to upgrade your braking ability, do a search for "fastbrakes" and his ITR Caliper conversion for the GSR. It'll save you about $1500 for R braking.
wow guy,
I was actually looking for a pic with gumetal rims on a WHITE GSR. They look pretty good. Has your braking improved?
One more thing, are the '97 rims for ITR lighter than the Gunmetal rims?

i dont know about improved braking really dont feel a diference but have nothing to compare because i swapped to 5 lug after 3000 miles and my 1st oil change \D. I believe the weight is the same
I think the advantage to 5 lug would be that you CAN use ITR brakes, having 5 lugs vs 4 wouldn't make you braking or handling better, right??
IMHO it would be daffy to spend $2k on that, but hey, whatever floats your boat.
I think you could get BETTER braking and handling perf by getting lightweight aftermarket rims and an aftermarket upgraded brake kit. Stock ITR GM rims do look killer, but they're not much (if any) lighter than GSR wheels so you could do better.
Take care,
