Default My Expo Week

My hat is off to Trey, George and all the others who worked on getting this thing together. It was a truly great event.

My week leading up to this event was a story in it self. Last Saturday drove up to NJ for a wedding in rain at 35-40 degrees. Sunday went to a wedding and drank a bit. Many, many thanks to SGT for going into my shop over the weekend and installing the cams and timing belt on George's car. Monday drove home in a freakin' April snow storm. Monday night and Tuesday worked on George's and Ed's mystery car. Started building George's exhaust sometime after midnight Tuesday. Left the shop about 5:30 am Wednesday. Went to sleep then showered, and was back in the shop by 9:30am. I was able to con SGT back to my shop around 10 or 10:30am (which is a major undertaking if anyone knows Steve). We got the Hondata installed and took the car for a ride. 1st, 2nd and part of 3rd were useless due to the rain. Saw 1 state trooper and 2 county cops withing 5 minutes of driving the car

Got home and then left with my wife and girls to the Outer Banks of NC, only another 4-1/2 hr drive in the rain. We got there in the middle of a mini hurricane with 50-60 mph winds but I wasn't at the shop. Drove home Friday, another 4-1/2 hrs. Had to finish taxes........only getting like $50 back. Picked up stickers at 8pm. Went home to eat dinner and spend some "quality" time with my family. Headed back out to the shop at 11pm on Friday to start packing for the expo trip. Home and shower and left for expo at 3:30 am Saturday. Crossed the PA line at 6am and pulled into the welcome center for a hour nap. Made it to the track by 9:30am!

Met a ton of great guys, everyone should post pictures of themselves so my mind can match the names to the faces again.

The weather was sunny, cool (or cold for the Cali guys) but windy. By about 5pm I noticed my face was on fire and will be suffering from sun and wind burn for a couple of days. The banquet was great but Warren had to wake me up once or twice. But man did I sleep well Saturday night, unlike one of my customers .

On Sunday, Matt from Hondata got us fixed up with a S200 since we had some issues with the S100 we installed Wednesday. A big to Matt for helping us out so that all the drivers could enjoy George's car. I even got to drive George's car (thanks). Not being on track for almost 2-1/2 years is way too long. I have to apologize to my passenger for my driving skills. I really laughed to myself when he got in and said "I haven't done this before". I then told him I've never been in the car on track before and it's been about 2-1/2 years since I was on track........I didn't give him a chance to change vehicles and drivers.

I left at around 1:45pm, fought with northern VA/I95 traffic and was home by 7:30 tonight.

It was truly a crazy week leading up to this event and that's why I had to give certificates out at the banquet instead of product, but it was all worth it. I had a blast.

Oh, every time I walked around the pits I saw Willard working on a different car. He even worked on some right hand drive vehicle. A big to Willard for helping out all the guys whose vehicles he wrenched on this weekend.

Dave,
I was your passenger. That was a blast! I figured I'd just keep quiet and let you drive, I must thank you again for making sure my harnesses were tight

The exhaust on George's car "sounded" great. As Dave told me when we were exiting the car, it was probably mostly intake noise that I heard, which means the exhaust was very bearable

I don't know what kind of design it had though.

Yes, that is the intake noise you heard. The exhaust sounds great! Not too loud, and has a nice rumble to it compared to most exh's I've heard.

Thanks for all the hard work to get the car ready..

ps: the S100 works now..
