i wonder if JoJo still uses eagle rods?



how much HP has someone ran with with Eagles? what about there cranks?

 

a guy @ the shop i go to has been puttin down 500whp w/them, for awhile now

well , we did not make the power jojo was making, and kicked a rod thru thru the block with a little over 600 to the wheels. Eagle is a great na rod, as far as high hp boosted rod, I would buy crower, pauter, carillo. Jason

 

viren i believe said he made 730 w/ eagles. another member made 647 w/ them.

 

this has been beaten to death. If you plan on making more then 500whp, don't risk it with the eagles.

 

Dont miss a gear, or have any other misshap with them, I know of 3 others that have lost motors to eagles. One racer lost his doing a burnout, he was pushhing 720 to the wheels, I will leave it up to him if he wants to make it public.
For me the extra 300 bucks lets me sleep easier at night. Jason

this is for high hp cars.
for most at 450 whp tops.
they shoudl be fine.

I have seen 200whp send eagles thru the block too. not only do they not handle high hp but they dont like to be revved either. No way jojo is running them either. Eagle probably gives him a good deal on pauters

 

that red stuff u talking about is the reflection off that clean *** looking block.

 

Jojo DOES run Eagles... He called to brag that they held up to 740+ at the wheels on the dyno 6 months ago while I was standing at Alan at Eagle's desk!

Gotta love local shops.

 

I dont beleive it sorry. if they are eagles they are not shelf eagles and they are 100% not the eagles that come with those gay *** rod bolts that break constantly.that car is ghetto as **** too. looks like it has 10 seasons on it. Nice wiring job on the inside too

 

The rod probably let go because of the castrol oil...

everyone knows that they use quaker state

 

Ever since we switched to quaker state we haven't had a rod problem

yeah we use royal purple on the street hatch

 

so if I run quaker state I can go over 170 too.

 

I wouldn't trust the "Big Q" to go over 170 miles PER OIL CHANGE. Bleh! Recycled ****.

 

i was told the Eagle rods are made in china , with the final machine work done in the US


PS: im suprized someone on here hasn't blamed it on the LS-VTEC's Rod-ratio

 

They're factory is a block away from the plant that makes Honda Rod/Main Bearings. Yes, in China.

 

you guys use oil in the race cars? I just open up bottles of W-D 40 and pour them in.

 

We just use old fashion lard from the bucket or chicken grease.
