im close to my bumpstops
at my current ride height im about 1/2 inch off the bump stops in the rear and less in the front. i havent cut the bump stops yet but i dont realy think it will help. will it or do i need shoter shox? the car seems to handle well(autox as well as hpde) and doesnt 'seem' to be all over the bumpstops but they have to be hittin them all the time being this low.

The rears should be fine, but you will need to raise your car in the front. With 400# on my DC2, I needed to be a little less then 1 inch up front to stay off the bump stops under normal load. Big bumps (like curbing and T10 at CMP for example) still bottom it out, but that is a non issue.
i cant realy run stiffer springs on tokicos and i dont have money yet for shorten'd koni. i guess ill have to raise it some. makes sence why a fellow compettor said his car rode like crap. he's lower than i am. hes on the b.s. all the time probably.

there was a trick to check how much room you should have.. i cant find the thread.
you put something around the shock near the top. then you do your autox/hpde run or whatever, and then you check how far up the thing went. damn i suck at explaining.

I have not noticed much difference, other then the pimpy look and that I can't use my strut tower bar anymore.

Just cut the first notch off of them, but don't do anything like remove them completely--they are there for a reason.
And yeah, you might need to raise the car. Unless you have suspension specifically designed for the car being slammed (which an OTS koni/GC setup is not), you'll run into problems.

RJ, I had about 1 inch of travel on my old car. Stock mounts, OE bump stop cut in half, and A-Arm swap. When I put my setup on the new car, using the GC mounts, I didn't change the location of the spring perch or the snap ring. Only difference is I don't have the upper A-Arms swaped yet. I had less then 1/2 inch. I cut off about 1/3 of the new bump stop and I should be back to where I was. Donno.

OMFG, thats exactly what i was thinking and should totally work. are they STS legal or would they not be considerd "suspension must attach to stock mounting points?"

interesting. i have to look at my shox. i know when i put them in i droped the shock all they way intot he fork as far as it could go. i have to look to see if i can trim something back to get travel. are there any other forks that are shorter than 89-91 civic forks?(although that would only help the front

rear EF shocks have a **** load of travel
If you ever want to see your travel as its hard to look at with the wheel there, put a small spare tire on there and you can see how much travel you have + any spring rates above 600 for sure will keep the rear off the bumstops.
