*best* lightweight flywheel
I feel like an *** asking this question, but the archive search is disabled.
Since it looks like I may be getting a new throw-out bearing, I figure I'll get the flywheel replaced at the same time.
Sooo:
1. Whats the "best" flywheels?
2. Is it okay to just replace the flywheel, and leave the stock pressureplate and clutch?

2)Yes...but might as well change it since dropping the tranny is not that fun.

TODA. Not only is it chromoly, but there have been no starter gear teeth problems, and the weight on Toda flywheels is towards the center. Before buying any flywheel, read the info in this link http://www.todaracing.com/topics/art...el_design.html

I love my comptech chromoly flywheel but if Leo at jdmspecperf.com was open when i was looking for a new flywheel, I would have purchased the Spoon Flywheel because 4.2kg and it was/and still is on sale for 340 Shipped.
I liked the CM/Fidanza flywheel because it has a replaceable friction surface. It's lighter than the ACT and costs only 30 dollars or so more.
But if you really want Chromoly those ACTs are quite a bargain at half the price of the JDM flywheels...
If your clutch has been recently changed, don't bother. But if you're somewhat close, then just swap it out. I hate dropping the tranny...

ClutchMasters. Made by Fidanza but with user replaceable friction plate (my Fidanza has rivots, the CM has screws).
Had mine for 2 years or more now, love it.

with my comptech 6.75lb flywheel, if I left of the gas fast, and dont let the rev's drop smoothly, the engine will fall on its face and stall. there is not enough enertia to have the engine keep going.
I have heard of 1 or 2 other people. Is there anyone else with this problem?

Here is a ClutchMasters FW. Had it for a while and I loved it. Was pretty cheap too.
I also ran the stock clutch and pressure plate on it.
