Default LS tranmission question (90-93)

Does anybody know if they fifth gear for these four years are all the same? As far as part # goes. Also, does anyone have a link to a cable b16 rebuild? Any help is appreciated. . .thanks

Notice that there ARE discrepancies. Many people want to be considered "number crunchers" for Honda/Acura. this makes them appear knowledgeable, and writing a webpage might seem to enhance this appearance.

I hate number crunchers, for the simple fact that THEIRS IS THE ONLY SOURCE OF INFO, so that makes them right. Besides, See what happens when you get TWO number crunchers in one place, and ask them this same question...

Disclaimer: Boostsohsofast, this is not an attack on you or your personal knowledge, I am merely advising Art701 here how to go about gettin his own personal knowledge. Accept NO SUBSTITUE FOR YOUR OWN KNOWLEDGE. Merely take advice for what it is. A suggestion, as this post is mine to you.

Draw your OWN conclusions.
I own both a YS1, AND a S01. There is a difference in the part numbers. besides, call your local acura Dealer, and ask for a technician who can help you from his cross reference manual. I did. I got good knowledge. Most dealers have a 1-800 number and are eager to help!

The only discrepancy from the ratio i posted is in the ratios that are listed at integraspeed.com and its only for gears 1-4. 5th gear is still listed as .742 in all of them for a USDM Integra 90-93 with the B18A1, so how can it not be the same?

OK then,

If they called the engine from 1990 to 1993 a B18A1 why didn't they just call the transmissions S01??? Why are there YS1 and so forth? If you ever saw the inside of an Acura transmisison manual, you would understand why I made this post.

AGAIN,
I am not attacking YOU, nor your personal knowledge. If you KNOW that the 5th gear ratios are the same, then you probably KNOW the part numbers for them. It seems that I have gone from "Not attacking" to "defending my OWN PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE."

I am not posting anything further to this thread.

The reason why i am asking about the part #'s is because i need to do a rebuild on my JDM S1 transmission, it needs the synchros for 3rd (and 4th kit i believe) and i wanted to make the fifth gear longer for freeway speeds and get better gas mileage. Well, i guess what i really need to know is, what USDM parts are interchangeable with the JDM S1 tranny. . .thanks
