MY sunroof block off pictures (and the result of having a compulsive father)
I saw the last post on the sunroof block off plate, and was going to do the same, but my dad would have none of that... "you'll have holes in the roof later if you change your mind" is what he said. But I don't think there's any turning back now anyway.

It took a bit of work, but not too much, about 4-5 hours. I love the guy, he did almost all the work, all I did was paint it (the only real ghetto part of the job)
And here's the car as it stands... my first w2w race this weekend - I'll have a post about that next week, I'm sure!

...I totally hoped that the finished product would have the Christmas-tree pattern. Nice job anyway.
What class is "PA"?
This makes me wish I had a sun roof just so I could try to do this. YOurs looks better than any I've seen so far. Maybe I'll get an S7 car with a sunroof, it looks like it is easier to do this than the rear diff/brake swap on an S7. Good work, inspiring also.

thanks for the comments all, I'll pass them along to my Pop
Crack Monkey: PA is for Pro-stock A. I'm in a local racing series called COMMA, CoMpetition Motorsports Association. They are the Ne-Okla region SCCA track and I hope to get my SCCA license in the coming months and work towards a Honda Challenge race by the end of the year. In COMMA there are 5 classes, GT1, GT2, GT3, PS and PA. And let's just say, I'll be the only FF Honda on the track. Hopefully I'll make some converts/believers. From the last test and tune, I'm guessing I will. "What's in that there honda, it got a turbo or sumptin?? It's pretty darn fast out there!" Heh heh.

That sure is a lot better than my leaking ghetto cover.
What did you use to cut the steel? Snips? If so, how did you smooth out the sharp edges?

Grandpa says congrats on a great install. Really professional sheetmetal work there. Now you can create templates and sell the parts too. I chose to reskin the roof on our CRX but would have done it this way if I had seen yours first.
Consider this idea-remask the panel and paint it to look like the panel you just removed <G>.
Have fun and be safe

thanks again for all the comments!
We used a saber saw to cut it, made pretty fine lines. And then a 4" handheld grinder to do the triming and notching.
my weekend of racing was a blast - I've never had so much fun behind the wheel of a car as going through a hairpin 3-wide with me stuck in the middle, it was a freakin rush! I'll post more on all that later, now I'm going to crash
