Any ideas why my car runs so lean (high compression) *movie/pics*
All right I put this B20 Non VTEC in with 12:1 pistons (93 octane). I'm running regular headgasket (just replaced actually), one heat range cooler plugs (NGK zfr6 plugs), stock LS injectors @ 55psi. And almost no matter what I do it keeps running lean as a mug under partial throttle. I have not hit full throttle, or even >50%, becuase it starts makeing little sounds that I'd like to not encounter more of. The plugs made it a little better going from a 5 to a 6. The 5's were so lean, the porcelin looked new after I pulled them out. The car also starts to heat up when just sitting still for more than a minute or two.
Heres a movie to give you an idea what it does.

Also, I have an S-AFC, but it's just monitoring right now, cuase I'm just trying to get the car to run somewhat normal. So someone tell me if the S-AFC is setup right.....
This is under the 'Pressure' tab
And this one, the throttle ones the only one that concerns me.
I might replace the injectors with Venom injectors, since Summit is doing an offer where they throw a free Venom fuel pump with injectors. I don't want to take my injectors much more over the limits, and I kinda feel unsafe running 55 psi as it is.
Could the compression be the culprit? Could it be running so hot in there, that all the gas gets burned up completely before the o2 sensor, no matter how much I inject? I will probably get an EGT, so that I can better diagnose the problem. On that note, whats an EGT normally read? like 700*-900*?

Fuel pressure regulator? If you have one, what's the rail pressure at with the vacuum line off and pinched?
But if the fuel pressure guage reads 55 psi, doesn't that mean that the current pump is pumping out 55 psi?
My main questions really is can the heat alone of high compression cause the car to run excessivly lean?

I wonder if the placement of the fuel pressure guages makes a difference ? Some people place it on the fuel filter and some place it on the rail. I wonder if that makes a difference.

To reduce the Combustion chamber temperate you need to fatten the mixture to run a little cooler combustion chamber temperature.

is the 55psi at idle or wot? it just sounds high
mine runs around 32psi at idle and 42psi at wot, using 93 with 11.3:1CR at wot it runs around the edge of being rich
im not really sure why you'd be running lean with that much pressure unless something is dirty or cloged maybe?
edit: nevermind i need to start reading better
im at a loss for sugestions

If you have a stock fuel pump, it might idle at 55psi but the pressure will drop when you hit the gas because the pump can't keep up. Do you have an in-car fuel pressure gauge? Does pressure drop when you floor it under load?
I dunno, what the max sustained pressure a stock GSR fuel pump can handle but I am currently using the 290cc Prelude injectors with a stock GSR fuel pump, and it is able to hold 4.0 bars (59 psi) at WOT all the way to 9000 rpms without dropping in pressure.
How new is your gsr pump? Are all the integra pumps the same size(190ltr/hr)? I had an old LS pump, once I got to 50psi base, if you floored it, the pressure would start to rise and then fall, like it couldn't take it. I replaced it with a walbro 255hp, and base pressure is now 60psi with RC310's, and it only goes up when you hit it! The fact that my pump was the original(95'), 140k miles, was probably my problem.
It's on a 99 GSR pump. It has roughly 75,000 miles on it.
Wow, 190 L/hr for a stock GSR pump. I wonder what a 98 prelude fuel pump is rated at ? 200 L/hr ?

You're running an LS ecu on a B20 set-up with high compression. The LS ecu has maps to fuel 1.8 liters while your set-up is 2.0 liters. The larger displacement along with your higher compression ratio is what is eating up all of your fuel. Bump to some 290 lude injectors or some 310's and play with your fuel pressure a bit and you should be able to get the fuel where you need it to be.
