[FAQ] DIY Polyurethane Motor Mounts
ok i got this idea from stevel, so thank him for this how-to.
first you buy some poly glue. i got this at lowe's. it was like $5.

then you put it in the mount (i had duck tape on the back side so it wouldn't squeeze through).

don't remove the tape for 24-48 hours when the glue is finally dry. i didn't wait and ripped the tape off after 12 hours. i ended up ripping the somwhat dry skin off the poly. the wet poly was underneath and not dry yet. so be patient and wait!

i was going to put them in an oven to try and speed the process up but didn't want to stink up the house. the grill idea sounds good! ...wish i would have thought of that.
one thing to add. i should have filled the side with tape first, then added the tape. i noticed when i took the tape off that the mount wasn't completely full. i just wanted to strengthen up a beat mount so i think i got enough in there to help.

I did the same thing, and it saved my life...when I got in an accident, it prevented my engine from coming up in my lap, instead, the sir2 just bounced back and forth

it cost $5 for the glue, so you might as well go ahead and try it.
i might do this to my car for an interin fix (but don't hold your breath on when i'll get around to doing it). it should hold me over until i can get the mugen TA bushings in there.

I did this to my mounts when I did my swap a couple of weeks ago. It worked really well, and I want to try to do it do the rear bushings too, but havent had the time.

i haven't used the window weld so i can't say. the poly glue is $5 at lowe's/home depot...i think the window weld is around $15 (from what i have heard). if that's the case, the poly glue is better.

they weren't the mounts for my car, but a friend's car. the car is sitting in a garage collecting dust as we speak, so the mounts were never tested.
try IMing stevel and talk to him. he gave me the idea and should have some answers to your questions.

I have been running my mounts for about 3 weeks now, and they are great. It does get annoying having solid mounts but I like them. I used the poly glue got it for like 4 bux. One of the best DIY mods I think can be done.
i used clear silcone, it worked good, still flexs alittle and i've had the front dont on my accord for about 8 months still good. I just recently did my civic's front and rear mounts, we will see how they stay.

is this the one that kinda connects to the body/frame in front of the rear wheel well. if so, when i did my springs i bent it too much and now they squeak like no other. I don't know if this would help, but it's worth a try. I might ghetto it and leave it all in and not take the mount out...or just by some new mounts...i dunno.

yeah, thats the one hes talking about. and about buying some new ones, good luck, i tried honda and they couldnt even get them... although they said that they're supposed to flex a lot, and that you should be able to see through them, since they have like spoked. so I decided that mine wernt actually bad and just kept them in there.

Since we are bringing up old posts...
I have had my mounts filled for almost a year and they are holding up just fine. I have 2 mounts fitted with ES mount inserts and the other 2 are filled.
