Man it just really sucks to be .RJ. I just got a call from him, both his Saturn and Integra were broken into last night. Both cars had their CD players stolen (along with all his CD's). The doors were probably slim jimmed because the windows are intact and he's 100% sure that he locked both vehicles last night after driving them (he specifically remembers locking them because he had a friends tools in both cars). They weren't parked next to eachother in the lot, but he didn't check the other cars around to see if this was something specific to him or not (he will check later when he files the police report). The center console of his Saturn was busted all to **** so he'll have to replace it obviously. The player in the Saturn was really nice, but apparently it has a security system that once it's removed from the car you need to send it to the dealer to be unlocked, and the player in the Integra was a total POS. I'm sure he'll add more to this when he gets back later. I told him it's a sign, get rid of the Saturn, busted at Summit, busted at the body shop, and now busted at his apt complex.

yay for apartment security! They sure do break up parties in 30 seconds flat, but dammed if they cant stop a whole group of cars getting broken into!

Another reason I'm glad I'm moving into an apartment complex with a secure garage. Maybe Jamie might be able to find a Saturn dash somewhere...

this is one the greatest benefits of living in the country, it doesn't completely eliminate the risk but it sure as hell decreases it

I'm going to probably take my cars up to my dad's place over the weekend and leave it there. He lives 10 miles north of winchester in the country, and has big f'in dogs that dont like strangers. If i need them for a weekend its easy to pick them up (only an hour away).

 

You can always leave them with me, or at least one of them. I'll take good care of them I swear.

 

I might do that - at least you have a gated parking lot. I'll bring the up on weekends and we can work on it.

 

.RJ: Sorry to hear that about your cars. Theives I hope your insurance company covers this and they don't give you the run around.

Is it me or is it that theives seem to target peoples cars here on H-T.com?

Hell, they didnt take the shift **** even though the allen key for it is sitting right in the cupholder. Probably worth more than the cd player!

my sister had a similar saturn, i remember installing the radio in it and saying 'damn it would be easy to steal this.' isn't there just a plastic piece in front that pops out (no screws) and two bolts that hold the radio in?
